We have mission rewards and tier items that give us the ability to build special planetary structures. I was wondering why we do not have anything like that for ship modules.
Computronium Plating Blueprints.
10 Ship Bots, 10 Relay Towers, 100 Repair Nanodrones, 100 Energy.
Adds Computronium Plating to the Hull Modules tab of your ship.

Computronium Plating.
Limit 5 Platings
Size 30.
Hull 300, Research 3%.

Unlike other buffs this 3% would not be stack-able but would add its percentage such that two Platings would be 6% for a maximum of 15% which is slightly less than the bonus of a Vygoid. This plating would, obviously, be a double edged sword.

when you say stackable, do you mean with vygoid? I am kind of confused on where you say this is a double edged sword.

for it to be a double edged sword, it needs a negative to go along with the positive...say -3% attack to balance out the 3% research bonus....

while im posting in a ct lab idea thread...how about an art that gives you info on who has scanned your planet...rank and if they are active...

Being that it would, in essence replace one or more of your other platings and with a 10/1 Hull to space ratio it is similar in ratio to the Microgel Armors (4th tier) and gives only 300 Hull whereas Syncopated plating gives upwards of 1100. If you do not need the extra Research then it is not a worthwhile investment. It would be stack-able with the Vygoid bonus but the individual bonuses would not be stackable with themselves so much as cumulative. They add up instead of multiplying. If this bonus were to work the same way as everything else in the game then you would gain more than 15%.

so you mean make it like the prejoran diffusers used to be? no thanks... the idea was cool, but before the change, literally no one used the prejoran diffusers. And, think of it this way. by the time a player is a high enough rank to see, much less use, the ct lab, they have no need for research. so, while your suggestion is interesting, i dont see it getting alot of use from players.

also, adjust the values of the required components. 10 ship bots and 100 repair nanodrones? most of the ct lab modules require 100 of the non tradeable artifact. repair nanodrones are expensive, each being worth over 200 million credits, but theyre easily obtainable. perhaps to keep in line with the other discoveries, make the 10s into 100s, and cut the 200 in half.
