After completing the mission for cluster missiles most of use never really use CM's and now have stockpiles of hundreds if not thousands of them. Id like to find another use for them that everyone could enjoy.
I am thinking they could be dual purpose. Keep them the same way when targeting an enemy player, but make them serve as a countermeasure for your own ship as well. They could block EMP's, disarming bombs, clouders, flares and other CM's on a one to one basis.
What i mean is that you could apply them to your own ship just like a trap. Say they last a week. You could apply as many as you want too. If they dont get tripped then they expire and are lost after the week is up. Since these artifacts are not traceable everyone will be limited and the benefit could not be abused.
Thoughts?

-1 we have enough traps i think and having artis blocked would be bloomin annoying. (hope bloomin isnt a swear word lol)

I have both done this to people and received it and I can tell you that is more annoying. To maybe add to your idea, what about a continuation mission that allows you to use them for traps and these traps will allow ship to be immune to debuffing artifacts for x period of time. I am all for trying to find a solution to either limit artifact spam that you can do or have a way to counter it. We build our ships up only to be wasted away by artifact spams and all your work goes for nothing.

having arties blocked is annoying but have you ever been on the receiving end of 20+ arties spammed at you? I have both done this to people and received it and I can tell you that is more annoying. Awe man all these -1's make my idea look bad even though you guys agree with it in some way. Doh. Yes, i like the repeatable mission version as well. I just thought it might be better to make others waste their artie spam only to be countered by the CM trap. That way it depletes some of the spammers arsenal.

well... it might be also fun to let Dan add some NPCs(especially bosses) that apply buff to themselves...
TBH, there is no particular reason why cages get used up faster than CM aside from the bosses, u find urself debuffed(via PvP) roughly the same chance that ur enemy is buffed so~
well... then there is the CTL stuff meh~

Stopping debuffs would be cool but people would just overwhelm the defense and that would in some ways be cool.

You want to know that the person attacking you has the superior fire power that can over whelm your ships or they are willing to spend the time to repair and grind till they kill you and not hit you for 10 of attack and defense make you have 1k attack and defense and now make your ship look like nothing cause its so nerfed down.
