Right now there are three ways to build up your base; modules, leveling it up and exo-clamps. This means that quite often you are in that time between leveling and the base just sits there providing extra resources for the legion. What about advanced structures that work similar to the CT lab to create, built in the advanced constructs lab *right under the CT lab in base options*

Basically different advanced parts would show up in the constructs lab that would require a good chunk of artifacts, resources or even ship modules to create. Once constructed these parts can only be viewed by officers who have permission as well as the leader. From then the modules are constructed using these parts that provide further bonuses to both the base and the legion members.

For instance:
Bio-AI construct - 25 android helmsman, 25 android scientists, 25 neural interfaces
Wormhole data conduit - 10 containment cages, 5 wormhole relays, 10 warp gate chassis, 100 Aidonium
ect

It would take multiple of these parts to build the base module. These modules would be an install similar to exo-clamps but be visible as special on the modules section.

Using my two examples above it would look like this:
Advanced AI sub systems and analyzing brain: 25 Bio-AI constructs, 50 wormhole data conduits, 25 some other third thing.
Provides the base with an additional 2 research for each Vygoid and gives players 5% bonus to research.

Other such things could
Lower the artifacts needed for CT items (no higher then 10%, probably 5%) ***
increase player attack/defense/cloak/scan *
increase base attack/defense *
increase base ability points regen *
increase player and base resource gain **
add extra bonuses to base abilities (an extra 1% per member of X race or profession) ***

These modules can be further extended in power however the parts to upgrade them are raised each time (more for some upgrades).
Using my example above that means it would go from 25 Bio-AI to 75 to upgrade once, then 150 to upgrade a third time.

Looking back above
* = this goes up 3x in cost per level
** = this goes up 6x in cost per level
*** = this goes up 9x in cost per level

This might need balance work but what do you think of the idea.

I would oppose any kind of non-tradable AP artifact used for the creation of something for a base.
Which I do believe benefits alts more than real players.

other than that tad bit, i'm all for it

The created parts show up in a base inventory. No one owns the parts, it belongs to the base and thus everyone but the one who controls what is built from the parts created by the legion members are left to the founder and any officers with permissions.

It would be similar to how energy EM and CTP work with bases. No one gets to use them they just offer them to level up the base.

yeah... but ppl with alts can get the base upgraded w/o cost to any of the members....
cost in term of non-tradable arts, especially perma stat boosters is quite "expensive"

I like the sound of this idea. It adds more ways of customising/improving bases, adds a new way to use artifacts, and does it with a social dimension too.

+1 from me.

Without cost? It will still take a very long time and then would be lost if you left the legion for another. That aside people with alts technically can do this already with the base production and such.

And yes i realize they are expensive, but you will have generally 30-60 people working on building these. If they are still unattainable it could always be scaled back.

I don't like anything that generates new abuses, in this case adding nontradable arts to the list.
And with enough alts, it really doesn't take as long as u might think

using tradable arts and non-perma-boost arts, on the other hand, will not cause any issue that's not already there, so that's fine with me as it's not creating new abuse pathes
