I just noticed that the ability to make polls was removed. And although I can understand why dan removed it. There should be a better way than to completely remove polls.

Why not give members rank according to their posts like I see in other forums. Also dan can remove certain previlage from members not completely remove ability to make a poll.

There are some players that really need to stop making polls but then polls are important too.

Just my thoughts. I know its late. But I've been away from the forums

+1 for rank system... and penalties that would apply to people that abuse the forum.

Lots of forums have a "karma" or "points" system or something. (+1 to the concept)

Every post you make has a + and - counter next to it.
The sum of all of these counters is displayed below your avatar.
As you reach certain "milestones", say +100, +250, you unlock certain features. For example, the ability to vote posts up/down, ability to make polls, etc.

This would have to be excluded from the main pub and probably legion forums though - too many flame wars/hater posts/votes there.

On the CoD Zombies forums (briefly a member) people had scores called 'brains' (original, right) and people voted up peoples posts that were really smart, and raised peoples brains.
