So you can't attack them at all through the planet? Agrona wrote: Littlefluffy wrote: The point of the truce auras is to make them a better defender.
really? I was under the impression the truce auras were meant for those who didn't want to participate in pvp at all. It is intended that way, but it goes through the better-defender route to get there. The auras don't work if they are guarding a planet and you attack them through the planet. The only advantage to having the aura on is that you can't be debuffed if you attack them off the planet.

Sadly, they use this same method to be total immune from base defenders while they are attacking their bases. Base defenders are supposed to be able to attack base attackers by throwing artifacts on them and be able to click "attack" on their ships.. Those immunity artifacts are grossly abused.. It needs to be fixed..

So you can't attack them at all through the planet? Yeah, I click any guardians via Exotica to kill. I was able to kill about 7 guardians but those two guardians were able to be immune to my attacks no matter if I fight them via planet. I even left GL and came back and clicked Exotica to target those two guardians and still get red messages telling me that I cannot throw artifacts or attack them to damage them in anyway. Immunity while PVPing sucks.. I don't care if they are immune to PVP attacks if they DO not pvp at all via battle tab..

Littlefluffy wrote: Kharr wrote: We are not saying immunity on the planet itself. The immunity with pacify is what we are referring to. That still will not work with your multi tabbing beacuse once you use an artifact the player becomes listed as "can not attack because player has artifact on him from preventing attacks". So you have to close out on the planet for that to drop. So not sure if multi tabbing will solve that issue but definately worth a looking into.
So what you are asking for is to be able to debuff through a planet? If yes, then -1 to this. The point of the truce auras is to make them a better defender. Unlike base combat they are actually defending so it is exactly how the artifacts are meant to be used. Immunity ensures no shortcuts and that is what is meant to. If you want to disable a guard while they are on, coordinate with a few others and hit him simultaneously; saves on nulls and energy. I remember doing this a couple times with a few legion mates awhile back. It's actually a lot of fun and builds unity in a legion, or in this case inter-legion relations. OMG you must be dense.... what i am saying that there is an ERROR that when you use a NULL it registers as an ARTIFACT which.... when USED makes you UNABLE to hit a target that you are NORMALLY able to hit with the AMP ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENS.... you have to EXIT the planet and RETARGET. Even if you have 5 targeting it does ont take much for 1 to spam KVT. Please stop commenting on something you know nothing or little about. You really do not even understand what I am saying in the first place. YES i know they have immunity, YES i know you can not target with artifacts, NO i do not think you should use an artifact on someone even if they have a pacify on them.

Also in the time it takes one to retarget a planet the others will have built up a KVT debuff list themselves, everyone will have to refresh get rid of their debuffs or wait, either way the delay in having to exit out and go back to targeting planet is enough to repair and set another KVT. It is possible, it is being done by the defenders who are online using the Truce immunity which 70% of their defenders do.

You're confusing "supposed to be" with "I think should be." Common mistake. Yes, this is a bug because of the design in the game, and we have a bunch of threads saying it needs to be fixed. I'm sure he'll fix it when he can figure out an efficient way to do it, but there are getting to be too many separate postings about this.

Just helping Ferrus out as he thinks this threat is about base attacks. So I will bump it for him every now and again to make sure nobody else opens a topic about base attackers and planet defenders being immune to player attacks . Here you go Ferrus

I did not think that at all. Yes, if one uses any "enemy artifacts" or "other artifacts" then the game treats them as a target off the battle tab and not a planet. Been that way for a long time.

Yes, and with the old halcyon and C-amp it wasn't a factor. But now that the halcyon affects the attacked player and C-amps can't be cleared with a CM, it has become an issue. One that I don't believe Dan intended, and should be worked on. I think the best scenario would be for everyone to put aside their differences and work together as the experienced players we all are and help Dan develop a workable change for the betterment of the game.

i say if you're at least guarding a planet....... truce effects and zero or below zero disables should not stop someone from using artifacts against you.... after all.. you chose to guard...

Lone.Lycan wrote: i say if you're at least guarding a planet....... truce effects and zero or below zero disables should not stop someone from using artifacts against you.... after all.. you chose to guard... I very much agree so. You choose to guard. Why should you get the luxury of hiding behind an AMP? Sure some of you will cry that you usually have it up and do not want to lose it to defend a planet, You have the alert ability and a legion for a reason. Let your pvpers guard it. You place yourself in a pvp situation and then cry that you hate pvp and you need ways to avoid it. This is a general statement and really not pertaining to the scenario that is going on with exotica but I know some mission/npc hunter will read this and cry that they should be able to defend their planets without risk of being disabled. Like I have said in previous posts, if dan wants to keep these mechanics the same as they are now, fine, it is cheap, but fine we can deal. But when u have an active defender throwing out KVTs and you go to null one which makes you unable to go back to attack the target without re-opening the planet window, that is where the issue lies. I have a friend in Dominion who uses this amp/halc trap trick to defend exotica. He was online the other night while we tried to attack it. He sent me a facebook message asking if I was having fun to which I pretty much raged at him for how lame it is. He did not quite get the issue as he thought it only blocked us from using artifacts till I explained to him how it forces us to re-open exotica every time we hit a kvt and decide to use a null. If you choose to not use a null you will just keep racking up KVTS till you hit 9 where you end up doing 0 dmg and are unable to do pick up anymore traps because the game registers you doing 0 dmg. At that point it will just keep randomly spreading to all the hitters and you are left with the choice of keep burning Nulls, or waiting out the debuff timer. If you use a null you have to spend an extra few seconds to re-open exotica which in those few seconds can easily allow a player to use a nano, restorer, and continue to spam KVT traps. IF you decide to wait you definately give the defender time to refresh. Once I explained this to him he agreed that it is a pretty BS thing. It is a truely frusterating thing to go against. We probably had about 5 or 6 of us on last night trying to kill off the last guards. Because of the scenario I described above, He was able to successfully defend vs everyone till they got about 5 active guards to get on the planet. This is a truely frusterating mechanic of the game that needs to be looked at and I hope that no one has to go through the type of frusteration that I felt last night. In a way, I want the planet to switch to us before Dan fixes the issue just so they can see how annoyingly frusterating it is, and I know they will be here too asking for it to be changed. The difference is though, that no one will flame them or say there goes the dominion getting dan to do their will again. It is part of the game system right now and I understand that so we have to deal with it. But I truely wish this gets changed so that no one has to deal with this loophole. Games are meant to be fun and to some degree relaxing (though if anyone is super competitive like I am it is hard to be relaxed when you want to tryhard haha). This mechanic of the game creates neither of those 2 goals that a game carries to its player base.

If you dont like being attacked stop playing games that run the risk of it? Easier solution than the essay I wrote. If you cannot handle the risk of being attacked/losing a planet/being hacked/w/e it is that people cry they need more ways to hide from, this is hardly the game you need to be playing. There are plenty of facebook games that strictly revolve around who can gain the most networth and value for a buisness or w/e the game might entail. This is mostly a combat game. The missions and NPCs enchance this with items and abilities gained through doing that.

Please fix this so Exotica change of ownership gets easier for everyone involved in the long term.. Nice change on Exotica, Dan but artifact immunity only makes exotica change of ownership even at 100% debuff not possible.
Thanks.. stop your Crying

You too will be complaining, and it will be funny because you will be the same people who faught to keep it. Just remember karma is a #$&*@.

By guarding a planet, a person CHOOSES to place themselves into a position where they can be attacked. That's not the same as popping up on the BT where you have no say in whether or not you can be attacked. When you guard a planet you are basically putting a bullseye on yourself for anyone that has that planet scanned. That to me is putting yourself into a potential PvP situation and trucing effects should not apply IF TARGETED THROUGH THE PLANET.
