Recently I have started noticing a pattern with some members of the legions we have Battle pacts with. When we invite the legion to help out with a lvl 5 base they accept then they hit the base a few times, do maybe 300or so damage an stop, hoping to get "free" badges and a shot at a raid (admittedly its probably a low % shot but its still a shot at a parser for 15 energy spent)

My suggestion is that when locking a base you have the option of setting a minimum damage level that you must achieve in order to qualify for badges or raid attempts. I realize that this could be both difficult to code and unfair to weaker ships but it would also stop freeloaders. Before anyone points out the obvious yes we could just look for new Battle Pacts but its not always the entire legion that does this, some members do plenty of damage and help out a lot but not all.

I actually agree. It would encourage ships to make themselves stronger.

you'll always have that problem.. just invite more legions to force the one-hitters to do more dmg if they want a badge

every now and then i'll burn through all my repair nanos and shield restorers trying to get as high as i can on the list... but then i'll have to go several bases just doing cash repairs every 5 minutes (or less if i decide to burn a few time manips)... i usually do between 1% and 20% of the top damager's amount

This is the reason of having battle pacts. Help eachother and defeat bases.. you cant expect ranks lower than 300 to do any decent damage to a base.. Does this mean that they shouldnt get the chance for a good loot?
At rank 222 I still do only several hits to level 5 bases. There is not reason to spend resources to do more. It takes 10 hits of the base to make me repair and i do 10 dmg(for example). And on the other hand lower ranks can get the badges for scanning a lot easier and that is their/our contribution. I dont feel like a freeloader after spending 600+ red badges for scanning.

I'm confused - did they help out on the base or not? There's already a system in place that scales rewards based on damage rankings. Who are they hurting (other than the base you are also trying to destroy) by tapping the base and not going all in?

one hit barely covers shield regen for one tick... if that much

dont forget about poor timing with bases; put something up nobody is online hitting it, then the person goes forget this no one is doing enough damage and leaves only doing a little damage because more big ships arent in on it. then creating a cycle of i cant do this by myself and others leave the fight. And the shield returns making no dent anymore and it all seems hopeless. But i know what ur talking about people being selfish and goin hey i got other things to do but might as well snag some silver and maybe a crate :D

just think there are to many variables to make a rule were selfish people cant get anything at all.

if u truely want to stop it ud have to have legions working together setting up times, kicking the selfish out..... pretty much alot of orginization. which only a select few legions have

I don't see how that is harmful to the other base hitters.

Because it effectively causes no damage at all if the shields recharge beyond 1 tick.

but it also didn't hurt the base... it'd be like a mosquito biting a rhino...

that's why i say... feel free to invite more legions and bump those one-hitters into the no-badge range
