 Thats what happens when your NPC attack is over 11K and you have 13K in hull and 6600 in shield. Not to mention the 2K in energy as well.

I don't know for sure but I do know that I got one that was just a plain Bane Emitter. All the others where the charged Bane Emitter.

I got the random com enemy Hallow whatever.. I am level 33... now.... i think... and it was disabling me in three shots maybe. Took awhile. BUT
 Got it. I got size 10 with weapons 20 and doubles if invading a planet..w40 (Bane EmitterAttack +20). On my level.. I was happy with it. I didn't really want to let such an evil ship go free... after all... it was requested we "put an end to their activities". How could I not ? lol Must protect the force .............. |

Looks like the NPC(s) got changed to common. Probably a last minute change so they spawn more often and people get their 4xemitter. Too often if you ask me : ) Anyways, happy hunting. Get your boomsticks!

Sorry for necrobump, but i found this while Googling;
Scanning only allows you to find random cloaked ships, it increases your chance for rare because rares are sometimes cloaked. NPC spawn is random, like artifact shipments: based on points you get something, even at 1mil points you can get a flux probe. |

regarding the bane... it was a halloween event "uncommon" spawn... all uncommons were becoming more and more common as we neared halloween... dan was bumping up the spawn rate of uncommons daily
