 Race Battlezone

Races team up to form temporary mini-alliances to take down other races. Damage in the battlezone does not have any bearing on the real ship, it is confined to the battlezone itself. Basically we have a few options for game-modes here.

  • DEATHMATCH: Races with the most players left after a certain time wins the match. Disabled players are eliminated from competition for the duration of the match.
  • FRENZY: Races with the most disables total after a certain time wins the match. Disabled players may repair and reenter the competition.
  • KING OF THE HILL: Last man standing wins the match for the entire race alliance. Disabled Players are eliminated for the duration of the match.
  • INVASION: Races compete to capture planets from other races. Each race is given an equal amount of planets to start. If at any point the number of a race's planets reaches zero, they're eliminated for the duration of the competition. The race with either the most planets at the end of the time limit, or owns all the planets, wins the competition.

Ummm some major flaws with this, first of all the high rankers will just utterly pwn the lower rankers and konqul will win.

There will be different rank categories, like 50 - 100, 101 - 150, etc.

And Konqul will not always win. There are stronger ships in other races which can take down weaker Konqul. Besides the fact that you can gang up on one ship.

True very true but uh konqul have the best chance of winning then. And anyone with an unlockable race have a lot lower success rate. And rank categories is a good idea although youd have to broaden them at higher ranks for obvious reasons :)

Well obviously :P The higher you go, the less ships there are.

The bonus issue could be resolved if all race bonuses are removed in the battlezone only. Then the races would simply represent factions.

Yeah thats a better idea then konqul wouldnt be so op but they'd still have a much better chanceof winning as there's so many of us :D

That's an easy fix :P Max of 10 or 20 players per match per race.

problem with that is that there will either be too few games(determined by the "rarest" races) that lots of the ppl from more "popular" races will have a hard time in finding a game
or... there is so many games that there will be an imbalance of power due to # of players... (at least for some of the races)

Because this game have a real tangible(so to speak) differentiation between races, seperation by race is probably gonna be a problem somewhere


And on a side note, if racial bonus is disabled for the duration of the fight, sillix will have a problem during the torny so...

Actually a high ranking Aerlen Fixer would be the hardest to take out, even for a konqul.

That is true but at low levels konqul would rule. And besides ill bet there's more high ranking konqul than arien fixers, working together they could take anyone out. Also to add to the idea there could be a new type of badges and modules to go with it.
