 Galaxy Lottery

My idea was that Dan can implement a weekly lottery that gives out credits, CTP, or Exotic Matter. (and/or Political Favors)
Then there could be a monthly lottery that consists of items such as Planet Fluxes, Terra-forming Devices, Quasi-Spacial Expander.

It can be played by putting in a amount of credits for a amount of tickets.
More tickets=Higher chance
The winner can be chosen through RNG.

Formula:
(Rank x 1000) x (Ticket Prices x Amount of tickets bought in total(in current lottery))= Price Per Ticket

could be fun... i dont think any normal players will win though. considering multiple players in my legion have over a trillion credits. just imagine the dysonians... :P

Yes, there can a debuff for them.
20% chance decrease for the week after they win.

Of course there will be a limit on how many tickets you can buy per lottery. It would be totally unfair if someone unloaded 10B on tickets and won compared to a lowbie who uses minimum credits and loses.

At least 10 tickets, probably 25 tickets max.
And no, 100,000 credits each too much or 10M each. It still has to be affordable by lowbie with not mucn income but still high enough there a a legit value to the tickets.

well, it depends how low you mean... 100 credits is a decent price for a 10- and 100,000 is a decent price for players 50+. it seems that this should apply to players 50+, and not everyone... i know it sucks to say that. but... 100,000 credits is a decent price. it would be like something to work towards for low levels. 2.5 million isnt that much... only 2 kurenite. i pay 200 million for a repair, and about 500,000 just to repair after installing durtainium brackets... so, i feel that it shouldnt be any less than 100,000

Or implement various prices depending on ranks and amount of tickets bought

that seems much fairer. higher levels already have a ton of credits, so something x1000 wouldnt be a problem i dont think.

An easy way of resolving the high rank (rich) vs low rank (poor) issue on buying gobs of "tickets" would be 1 per customer. Kinda like signing the book at the local Polish club. Every one gets 1 chance and 1 chance only every day.

Simple one:
You get a ticket with the daily reward, "play" it whenever you want. If you want to save up 30 and use them all at once, go ahead. you'll still have a very low chance (based on the 1000s who play daily), and it'll take you 25 days.

or, have an ENERGY cost which increases with rank (i.e. a scaled mission or something).

I personally like the first option you posted here. You get tickets with dailies, but if this is in place, you have the option to buy tickets for ridiculous amounts of credits (like a billion per ticket). That way the keeners can have a better chance, but those who saved up the daily reward tickets will be rewarded for it.

There should also be a box which tells you how many people have already entered. This can be very important on strategizing whether or not you should enter in this week's lottery or not.

Shouldn't be a box as it is random and number of players + number of tickets bought can affect the overall part of the game and free item for the high ranks.
If it's based on daily rewards, we might as well make it annually.

I like the idea of getting more stuff, but I feel like the daily reward is sufficient. Perhaps your desires would be met if more items/artifacts could be earned through the daily reward tab, just at a rare rate for better items.

please, no more items added to the daily reward... its hard enough to get the gp/energy draws... and thats what we're really after. everything else can be obtained from missions or npcs.

I liked the idea of purchasing tickets, and i also like the idea of one per day, and the idea of them not being bound to be used on the day of purchase.

Perhaps players can purchase 1 ticket per day. They dont have to use the ticket on that day though, and can horde them until they feel they can win. Seems to be the best combination of both suggestions.

And the reason we need the lotto is because mid to lower ranks have an overabundance of credits, and need something to spend em on. They also need complex tech, which is the point of this lotto. So, i feel a reward of a few thousand complex tech would do nicely. Perhaps <rank>x10 in complex tech as the reward for the lotto? would really make the player rich if they were to spend it, and would really help out their legion if they wernt to spend it...
