When you abandon a planet with structures on it, and someone else colonizes it, will the person be able to use them or will he have to start from scratch?

Start from scratch, the easiest way is after you alert it the OTHER guy leaves the legion and takes it.

Player A alerts Planet X. Player A leaves Legion. No one in legion can see Planet X. Apparently the alert stays when you leave the legion. I recently (yesterday) learnt this from a legion mate. Not sure who's right although to be fair I'm leaning towards the guy with 500 more ranks lol.

The alert stays, but if you click it it'll say something like: "this planet is no longer in scanning range".

If anyone involved in the trade leaves the legion after the alert goes through, the trade will not go as intended because the buyer will not be able to see the planet. _________________

they are correct... dont do that, it doesnt work, hasnt for a very long time..
only possible if another legion mate has that planet on their scan, they alert it and you leave so the person you are selling it to that has joined your legion can take it from the alert by the alerting member that stays in legion, you will now be out of legion and "enemy planet" can now be taken (from you).
OR, if it is 'not occupied by you' you can alert to let them take it.

there was a bug a while back that allowed you to guard a planet, leave the legino then attack and raid it but that got fixed.

To trade a structure:
first get the structure in artifact form(extract if on an planet)
get the buyer to share a planet
colonize the planet, put up the strucutre, leave legion
buyer now can invade the planet because he also have the scan of the planet.
ofc... if one other person you know and willing to participate in the trade also have a proper scan of the planet... then it's a much easier task
