Capture of Elite/Boss NPCs (List updated)

My Idea was inspired by the fact I like the look of the Crimson Voutul, and wouldn't mind having it as my ship image. In essence, my idea was once you and your legion-mates have disable select NPCs (Or possibly all NPCs), you have the option to attempt to capture them (Obviously only one person can capture it, but who can be decided my discussion of players - Perhaps just the top damage?). This would cost, say 20 energy, and would have a chance of success based on the ship (Proposed list below). If you succeed, your ship image is replaced with that of the NPC you captured, and possibly you are given a small "Ship Bonus" a bit like the Race and profession ones, but smaller. Your race and profession is still displayed as normal, AKA it's not like the smuggler disguise. The battle tab might read like this: HpatRank 248 Aerlen PhysicistCombat reputation: Dangerous And so forth. One of the key reasons for this would be for more individuality, as it would give us more ship images, without dan having to make them  List of proposed NPC's to be capture, chances of success, and ship bonus. Chance to capture perhaps a matter of raid %?
Also be interesting if by using the ship you gained a bonus to related ship mods, or number of those mods usable.

I don't think it'd be fair to have it as rading % related for two reasons, namely the NPCs don't have specified crew (though I suppose It could be made up), and It makes in unfair on players who reliy on modules rather that crew for effect. I also meant it to be relatively ease because it allows player to have more individuality.
The ship/module related concept sounds good. In my case perhaps the captured Voutul could give a 50% boost to the Voutul plating and blast phaser, and similar things to other ships.

+1 if it includes Drannik Encephalon.,.. the greatest of all NPC's (see sig) - 95% of my crew are androids anyway -1 if not  In all seriousness, I do like the idea of "capturing" a certain ship type as currently EVERYONE is a Dark Smuggler Btw: Dark Smuggler suitable candidate - Dark Arms Carrier

Fantastic idea, people have been asking for ages for more option for ship appearance and this, as the OP said, would give us that option without the need to create new images. the biggest problem i see is that a lot of players are at the point where they can no longer see a lot of NPCs and as such they would be unable to capture them. Perhaps it could be that if you are past the rank range for that particular ship, or if you've finished the mission that spawns them, then they are automatically unlocked, or unlock-able via a cheap Dark Badge artifact say 50 badges or so. Also there should be a hanger as suggested here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=22322

As for the people past the rank of certain ships, I agree that something needs to happen, this is meant to be capture, so I don't think that you should be able to 'unlock' them just be getting past their rank range - as you could do this without disabling it once. Though the arty Idea rang out at me. Perhaps, costing 50 dark badges, It allows you to spawn one NPC of your choice, that you are already past the rank range of, to the battle tab.
EDIT: Or perhaps in line with the second line of my post, just make all NPCs captureable?

If it was just 50 for everything, you would always summon the best thing for the best rewards.

Hmmm...An asteroid, I think that's pushing it a bit much, The Drannik E-thini-ma-bobby, took some work to get around. At least it would be an easy capture

it would be an interesting possibility from the updates shown in Dan's update thread it looks like we'll be getting a chance for some customization, would be nice to have an upgrade for the dark smuggler chasis with holograms or interchangable mods allowing for changes of images captured so one might alter for mood situation.

He didn't - Part of the Mylari Unlock chain has you fight against space astroids NPCs for to complete the mission - I think this is where i came from.
