Considering the inability of a lot of bases being unable to defend against collective legions, and the driving desire for people to obtain silver badges, perhaps there should be a new optional rule added for bases:

Surrender
When active, if a base falls to 10% hull, base is deemed to have surrendered to attacking ships. Attacking ships receive full badges. Base must pay 2B^Base Level from Base Funds (if insufficient funds, base cannot surrender). Effect of surrender allows defender bonus to stay at 100%.

Cost of surrender by Base Level
1 - 2,000,000,000
2 - 4,000,000,000
3 - 8,000,000,000
4 - 16,000,000,000
5 - 32,000,000,000
6 - 64,000,000,000
7 - 128,000,000,000
8 - 256,000,000,000
9 - 512,000,000,000

This allows bases to keep their production level while still imposing a penalty onto the base (in effect, paying for the silvers and the raids with credits). And it allows attacking forces to gain silvers, base raids and prestige of making a base 'tap out'.

There could also be an option to not accept the surrender that can be changed by a Leader or Officer of the original locking force. If set for 'No Mercy', surrenders will be ignored and base can be disabled normally (because sometimes you've just gotta make a statement!).

I think an exponential formula may work better, low level bases can be strapped for cash and need all the production they can get doesn't mean I won't hit your base though
Lvl 4 should be where it starts to get expensive, by then members should be able to care for it

... Isn't that what I did?

Object behind the surrender is that it isn't easy. Otherwise it is like a non-existent penalty. I like to think it would promote trade and base donations.

I like the idea but lower start cost with higher rate increase would be better IMO, since 2's and 3's generally aren't keeping billions in their base at a time

I say the formula starts at lvl 3, considering bases have to be level three to be eligible for base battles.

Even better! Solves the low levels not having 2-4B problem. :)

I like this idea. Especially the part where the defending legion gets to keep the production bonus, because it really smarts having your production halved.

I've been involved in battles against Level 2 bases.

Some level 5 bases get locked and disabled 4-5 times a week these days, i highly doubt they can afford to pay the 32Bil cost 4-5 times a week.

At least this gives them an option. They do not have to take it.

Or instead of paying billions, if a base wishes to surrender they could not repair and buff, save themselfs cash for no effort lol.

.. But they would still lose their base defender production bonus for 10 days of recovery.

So as I'm sitting here, base being attacked, and using abilities and stuff....
I'm just thinking...
TBH, there is no reason for us not to defend using ability/repair(via fund) because we got plenty of funds and... well.... being a non-cash legion our production is more or less mono, so we don't need all that AP
On the other hand, in all likelyhood the base will fall anyway even if we use all measures of resistance, the attacking legion is strong enough for that I think

So perhaps a treaty option for the attacking legion to offer something in return for us not defending. Ofc, this treaty is only useful when the defending legion have online players to use abilities, otherwise it's pointless.

But if such a feature is put in, the attacking legion could save tens or perhaps hundreds of thousands of energy in total at a cost of some fund or CTP while the defending legion gains some fund/CTP more or less for nothing(nothing else have changed)

now, ofc this can be arranged for in private now anyway, but in the heat of combat... it's really a hassle so~

thoughts?

Note: based on the amount of hull our base loses per tick(re-open window), I daresay I'm wasting a total of at least 10k energy on the attacking side, which worth much more than say.... 1k CTP at least~ and I would gladly have 1k free CTP out of nowhere~
