critical raids should result in the abduction of enemy crew members and holding them hostage. what do you think?

If you mean taking an actual crew member from the target... Definitely not. And before the argument comes up that you can lose a crewman in a crit-fail, remember that you are the aggressor in the raid and that's the chance you take when you go for a raid. It would really piss me off if I lost a crewman through no fault of my own.
If you mean a "duplicate" added to your own ship... Maybe. It could absolutely NOT be an engineer or tactical officer. I'd be hesitant about helmsmen too.
I agree that a crit-raid should net you something more than it does now, but a crewman... I'm not sure if that's a real good idea.

Critical raid means that the raid went really well. 2 badges instead of one? Percent bonus on minerals stolen?

The ratio of your crew to the enemy crew creates a "chance" to raid. Throw in Protean/Raider bonus, then the RNG chews on your adjusted chance and spits out a CritSuccess, Success, Fail, or CritFail.

I agree that a crit-raid should net you something more than it does now, but a crewman... I'm not sure if that's a real good idea. the same argument can be made of crit hacking, the aggressor can get something awesome there. So I think that logic is hardly solid

Har har, crit raids being rare. At least 1/10 if not more of my raids are critical successes, where I haven't had a critical failure in over 300 raids.
I would agree something more would be nice for critical raids, but the enemy shouldn't lose a crew member just because you critically raided them.

Hmm, how about a temporary buff, Morale Boost, increases attack by a percentage. removed in 2 days or when next disabled, not removable by artifact effects.
