 Ranking up Confirmation

I'm sure everyone does it from time to time and it's pretty annoying; ranking up with relays on or half the energy modules missing.

So I was thinking that it would be cool having a confirmation message along the lines of:

Are you sure you want to rank up? Yes / No

Then if you press yes, well, just continue as if nothing happened (e.g. rank up with all excess experience going towards next level, and energy bar full again).
Pressing "no" would keep you 1 experience point away from next rank, with any excess experience lost, but at least you'd have a chance to equip / unequip modules.

There could also be an option to enable or disable the warning in case you don't like it, and it would be also good for people who does not want to rank up (would prevent ranking up but not completing extra missions with any extra energy... just press "no" everytime you go past it).

Do you think something like this would be feasible / good?

Cheers,
Sharn

I used to want this so bad, these days it's not as important, however if it were to be implemented it should happen a maximum of once per ranking-up o prevent abuse by people who would want to keep using energy without ranking up.

If this does come up, I would appreciate the ability to disable it. Yes I screw once in awhile, but asking me every time would be way more annoying.

I'm thinking something like:
This action will cause you to rank up. do you want to continue?
Yes/No?
If you press no, you simply dont do the mission, kill the NPC or whatever it is you are doing.

+1 for if you select "no" then you simply do NOT do the action you were about to do. This gives the opportunity to equip energy cores and unequip relays.
Selecting "yes" just does the action and you rank.

Phrase the question as "proceeding will cause you to rank up, do you wish to continue?"

-1. Just because there's too many damn "are you sure" popups already. I'm surprised no one has suggested putting one on the Daily Reward button or for when you log in. Come on people, my 7 year old knows how to pay attention to the task he's working on and knows how to take responsibility for his own actions.

The only are you sure I'm aware of is the one from tri matrixes. And the argument was very similar to now.

And when you have any tab, be it killing an npc, about to colonize a planet, running a mission, ope anything relating to bases you cannot see your exp bar well.

The number of times that I was 2k experience from ranking and suddenly ranked while running a mission I can't count. If the exp bar wasn't faded out I would very much -1 this idea. But its not.

Are you sure you want to scrap 182 'RSL Anti-Cryptex'? YES NO

Yeah, pretty sure I do since you can only use something like 45 to do the whole mission. Scrapping artifacts, selling ship mods, demolishing planet structures and using a handful of artifacts are all given the idiot proofing treatment.

The rest of your statement, I will wholeheartedly agree with. Shifting the pane down just enough that you can see your energy, hull, shield and xp bars is something that was brought up a long time ago and would be an incredibly easy change to make.

Well, the original suggestion includes and option to remove the warning if you don't like it, maybe that could be extended to remove ALL in-game warnings for people that prefer not having them.

I personally need the warnings as I often play with an iPhone and it is extremely easy to miss-click and lose a valuable item (e.g. if there wasn't a warning about selling ship modules, I would have lost half my mission rewards by now; pressing "Sell" instead of "Uninstall" happens half the times when trying to move things around :P).

And yes moving the panels down so you can see the experience bar would also help a lot to solve the "ranking by accident" thingy :)

What about when you are really close to a level and someone kills a boss NPC you locked in on? (happened to me a few times)
Its a nice thought but not really necessary. Perhaps if the top bar, showing your ship hull/shield and exp were made visible when doing missions or npc hunting etc it would be good.

Absolutely. Also, the EXP bar and Energy bars need to never fade out, or they need to be present in all action tabs (PVP, PVE, Missions, Scans)
