Is there a limit to the number of energy cubes you will get in the game? I have two and was thinking of using them to complete a mission where I don't have much time left (just a few days) I have calculated my re-charge rate and even factored in ranking up in the most efficient manner and i just wont have enough energy to finish the mission (Its Surgical Precision -my first timed mission) Is it worth it to use the cubes for something like this? Or do I save them for some future endeavor? I have also thought of re-fitting my ship for a higher energy bar so when I rank up I will get just that little bit more energy (although this will not change my re-charge rate). The problem with this is that it will cost me alot of credits that I do not have yet because I am so new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The mission will be archived - don't sweat getting them now.
But there is an infinite number of cubes.

You can get Energy Cubes and Trimatrix Emblems randomly from the daily reward. Any non-holiday timed mission will, eventually, be "archived", which means that eventually it will appear in the list of permanent missions.
If you believe the reward is worth it, use the cubes to finish it now. If not, you can finish it in a few months when it becomes permanent.
Either way, you can always get more cubes.

Quote: Is there a limit to the number of energy cubes you will get in the game? No you have a chance of getting them or a Tri-Matrix Emblem as a daily reward. Quote: I just wont have enough energy to finish the mission (Its Surgical Precision -my first timed mission) Is it worth it to use the cubes for something like this? The mission will become available again without a time limit when this mission chain is finished Quote: Or do I save them for some future endeavor? You can if you want and get a better amount of energy from them Quote: I have also thought of re-fitting my ship for a higher energy bar so when I rank up I will get just that little bit more energy (although this will not change my re-charge rate). Thanks everyone for the fast replies. I guess I will abandon this mission for now and concentrate on something else for awhile. Goodness knows I spend enough time on this game. lol it is sooo addicting. Wish I could find a good legion that would answer my questions. I'm staying there for now for the research points. They never come on-line except the leader to maintain the base and they gave me a planet so I feel obligated...

Come to VADERS IRON FIST.
We are a new legion, but have some experienced leadership and are quickly growing. Search us on the legion board and give us a try. We have some super helpful chatty members. If you are addicted to the game, this would be a good place to come!

Thanks for the invite. I'll be checking you out after this weekend. I'm going away for the weekend and want to start when I have plenty of free time.

Well eventually as you rank up, you will want to focus your research on energy. No matter what type of player you are (mission, PvP, Npc, etc etc), you can't go wrong with energy. More energy=more actions.
Also, along with a higher capacity of energy, you have a higher recharge rate (if you install relays- highly recommend it).
And yes, you should save your energy cubes for later. Although there is an infinite amount you can get (as well as tri-matrix emblems, from the daily reward), they will be more efficient later on. In addition, you can get a limited amount of energy cubes from a mission (forgot the name though, sorry).
Think of it this way:
Say at rank 10, you have 100 max energy (i don't know the real amount). If you use the cube, you get 100 energy (saying you had no energy when you used the cube).
At rank 100, you might have 500 max energy.
At rank 150, you might have 1000 max energy. That's 10x more energy you get for using the cube once.
Plus, in the beginning levels, you can level up pretty quickly, just from a set of full energy (at rank 10, 100 energy can you get you to the next rank).
At rank 150, you'd need about 2x1000 energy to rank up (full energy+energy cube).
Finally, make sure you uninstall relays before you use a cube/tri-matrix emblem. Relays lower max energy. I have 720 energy w/ relays, but 960 w/o relays. That's a 240 energy difference!
Overall, it's more efficient to use them later on.

for max use, wait wait wait. Ive got the last relays and 4 of them together is 480 energy just from uninstalling them. also if you have the ion ballistae, remove those before ranking or using a cube/tri. Im rank 377 with ~3700 energy without my relays.

Yeah wait, because at low levels they are not really useful. But if you get a large enough energy bar, then they are.
