 A global NPC base (EVERYBODY can attack!)

Instead of 3-12 at a time, why not a base that gets known to the ENTIRE GAME that thousands of players can attack?

The base would be a super-base, something on the scale of the Borg Unicomplex.

Then as expected, the rewards would be massive and worth it, and those in upper places (set by amount of damage dealt) may even win titles or new ship designs.

liking the idea, sort of like a world-wide event. We could use something like that.

Now, would you want a regular NPC, set on a timer that would die from attacks, or one that stays up for, for example a week, and then dies when the timer is out?

Whoever did the most damage in the time its there gets the biggest prices, im assuming?
the advantage of having it die on a timer, is that you can set up some kind of chart over how much damage needs to be done for what kind of prices.

1-50k damage - tiny price.
50k-250k - small price.
250k-1M - medium price.
You get the point.
Same price system as base crates, the bigger the crate the better the price.

Though im all for this idea, i doubt it will happen. Otherwise, i think it would have been done a long time ago. It has been suggested multiple times.

Happens all the time on Legacy of a Thousand Suns, and it took months to sort out : /

Dawn Of The Dragons does this 3-4 times a year without trouble, with 9k spots on each.
Last time i think it was the castle raid thing.

But of course, that game is run by a company, do they have a much larger capacity...

Same company, different game. We get 30k+ and after several run throughs they eventually got it under control, but who knows if it would be viable here. I can't attest to the server capacity.

Just do the same thing that the base does. I think that thousands of players attack at the same time in the game the way it is and it runs fine. Just have it show the health go down with each click and if you want to see your total have the same thing as the base so you have to stop attacking and click on it to see your damage. I would like to see something like this. Like a two day event or something and have like a week notice on it. But you all have to know that the top players in the game would get the top spots. So don't whine about it after words. lol
