I am sure this has been brought up before but that only means that its a popular idea and should be brought up again.

If you get snared, through omicron net, halcyon trap or whatever. It should be a truly ensaring trap. No offensive actions on other players OR NPCS.

Why?

Because currently people are cheating the system.

They use Omicron Nets on their friends (there is a way around the supposed block) to keep people from getting attacked. They purposefully trip halcyon traps so they can't get attacked. But they still get the benefits of fighting NPCs.

I also believe if the people who made a habit out of attacking the little guys knew that a halcyon trap would mean they really could not fight anyone, PVP or NPC, they would be a bit more cautious about attacking people.

So here is what I suggest.

When you are truced in anyway, you cannot make any offensive action at all on a player or NPC. You cannot attack, hack or raid another player. You cannot use enemy artifacts at all. You cannot contribute to the gang bang on a boss NPC. You are benched.

i agree, more than once ive been hit with a net, so then i just hack em till i steal a planet, and thats even worse for them. This would make it more fair, because hacking isnt very trucelike. Plus i think people would think twice about engaging in PvP if they knew they wouldnt be able to attack an Elite Boss once they got hit with a halcyon.

Yes we should force people to play the game less and the times they play are dictated by others........wait no that sounds like a stupid idea.

Your argument has some merit, but you need a better solution.

If you don't agree go ahead and implement this and I will net you 24/7 for a month until you forget that the game even exists.

its called doing missions. and if you cloak you wont show up on the battle tab. and if your a level 130 beating up on a level 50 because someone in ur legion shared him, then you deserve to be hit with a net and not be able to kill players or NPCs. This would make the game more fair and prevent people from disabling someone or stealing a planet and then using a calming amplifier. If you want to play the game, then dont PvP. if you want to PvP then deal with the no play consequences.

until you run out of missions. Once again you are letting someone else dictate your gameplay. You can avoid me all you want, but you can be found. This won't happen, and if it does wait and see the consequences heh, this could single handily destroy the game thats how bad of an idea it is.

except that at your level you should have a substantial amount of containment cages stacked up. just used that, as that is not an enemy artifact that was mentioned above. and besides, from reading the other posts it looks like it takes more than one player to disable another. just have one of ur buddies attack, then use a containment cage, then hammer the guy. This would only cut down on the random PvP fights and some of the more annoying players that stalk you if you disable them. but if this idea was implimented then omicron nets would have to be alot rarer, or use more energy to be deployed.

jesus, he's just trying to mention that there is an exploit where people net each other and hack/raid with no consequence. You can use containment cages on those, so it even gives you PVP initiative. What is so wrong with getting rid of that? ...the first part

and that's the part that I said had merit. As I also stated, there needs to be a better solution, the one proposed is ridiculously bad.

i dont see how this would be rediculously bad. MOST PLAYERS arnt at war. so this would benefit MOST PLAYERS. it would just make it significantly harder for the dysonians to kill every ship that shows up in the battle tab.

As an addendum to that statement, I really think the whole pvp system needs to be reworked and I think you are already aware of this. Throwing small rocks into the busted pipeline isn't going to accomplish much.

It's bad because you either don't like Kaos, or because it is your bread and butter. It would be nothing but good for legitimate gameplay.

lol see you already invalidating your argument by proposing an action simply to nullify what you see as the actions of a few. Once again you show your ignorance by claiming we just randomly blow everyone up in the battle tab. Most of us don't pvp normally and we don't even visit the battle tab, however we do have enemies and there are others that do enjoy pvp.

You are effectively ruining the game for anyone that enjoys pvp, not us. In addition you are giving anyone that has ever had a grudge the ability to destroy your game. You are giving griefers the power, not taking it away.

Where do you get this, my bread and butter? I haven't pvped in months and months. I also have the ability to evaluate suggestions on the basis of their own validity and whether or not it would help the game or be detrimental. I am not a child, I do not hold personal grudges against people to the point I have to come on a suggestion forum and say their idea is bad because I don't like them. That isn't remotely logical.

If you can invalidate the points I'm making then do so. You are the ones attempting to make it personal.

Well, the nets are an obvious exploit in terms of PVP. Truces are inconsequential as it is and even used in the reverse action of how they should be with both nets and halcyons. If you don't PVP anyways, then it shouldn't be a problem. It makes a bit of logical sense seeing as how a ship is a ship. It wouldn't be the end of the world for anyone, since anyone using other people's halcyons are freakishly active and are pretty intent on waiting that hour anyways and you can use containment cages on nets.

They are suggesting that you can throw an omnicron net on someone and it removes their ability to pve or pvp for 4 hours. For some people this may be within their entire time slot they have to play the game. You just completely ruined the enjoyment of someone else who maybe doesn't pvp in the first place.

Dysonians play a lot, way more than the average person, if you are intent at directing this at us, it would effect us less then it would the average casual player. Players like us are rare within the community, you can see them in each of the other legions, Kaos, Coth, hunterX, Spoony, Psicore, are a few that come to mind.

The point is they are the very small minority, for the folks that only care to log in for an hour or so then log off, these are the people it ruins the game for and they are the large majority here.

FFS, you can use a containment cage on an omicron net. Eliminating the omicron net exploit and providing the first ever disincentive for purposely eating up halcyon traps is a GOOD IDEA. It makes perfect sense in terms of realism as well. It will make sense for beginners because it just plain makes sense. Just fight NPCs before you go off to kill people. If you can think to uninstall relays before leveling, then remembering to battle in that order isn't a very tall order and wouldn't even always be necessary until levels where everyone has halcyon traps... and krionus traps and every other traps. Most people eat through all of them on purpose though and it needs at least some sort of disincentive since people even do it from the battle tab. The current system seems more unfair than the one proposed.

Let me propose this situation.

1. Player A gets attacked or invaded by Player B.
2. Player A wants revenge, so he omicron traps Player B.
3. Player B uses Containment Cage to get rid of Omicron Net.
4. Player A throws another Omicron Net.
5. Rinse and repeat until Player B runs out of containment cages.
6. Player A is now free to lock down Player B 24 / 7 if he so desires and has enough Omicron's stockpiled up.

A bit extreme, yes, but it is possible.

Now think for a minute. If this is aimed towards the Dysonians, it won't really work. The Dysonians can generate way more artifacts per hour than anyone else. That means they can easily gather hundreds of Omicrons between themselves, and just omicron whoever they're at war with or hate, 24 / 7 after forcing the other legions to burn through their containment cages. Then the Dysonians can just farm NPC's and isolate a legion nonstop while the other enemy legions will suffer with no PvP revenge AND no NPC's to boost themselves up with. This is no different from abusing halycon traps.

Different artifact, different concept, but the SAME exploit and "kill PvP" strategy.

You have some real problems reading lately. Maybe your rage is blinding the words in front of you. They are proposing that you cannot remove omicron nets and similar devices with containment cages.

There is no point to this post. This is already known and it is in no way an exploit. It is indeed a tactic. This also has nothing to do with the currently proposed suggestion and omnicron nets do not currently effect pve. We are definitely not the only ones doing this, everyone does it.
