Okay, okay. We SO need a war system. Seriously. I'm not talking anything fancy either.

1) Legion sends "War" pact. Accept/deny
2) Legions can invite legions with a battle pact to join the war.
3) Alert timers are nullified within the warring legions between the warring legions on players only. Planets they still apply.
4) Each legion has the option to "Surrender" or "Request Truce". A truce would simply break the pact, if accepted, surrendering would incur a penalty.
5) Legions could have a "Wars Taken Part In" "Wars Won" "Wars Lost" "Wars Drawn"

No points. None of that malarki, just a 20 minute pact/invite system running off of existing coding. And then a simple "if x = y" line in the alert code. How long would that take Dan? Alot of similar coding exists already with bases. I would hazard a guess that each legion already has a legion ID too.

I like your simple idea, strm, but I don't think it's quite as interactive as mine and I agree with points being stupid, but it was the only way I could think of for people not to be hiding behind halcs without surrendering.
