add a merge request thingy so that recruit legions can better merge with the actual legion without having to tell each person to move to the actual legion.

if your members cant follow simple orders then your better off without them. plain and simple... simple just like....

What he is posting about has nothing to do with members following orders or not, he is asking for a way to streamline legion mergers, which is completely reasonable. There's no harm done in trying to facilitate a merger that can end up being messy and over complicated. If you don't like the idea, that's fine, explain WHY it is a bad idea, don't just post personal attacks against the poster and call his intelligence into question.

I like the idea for efficency, however the -0.5 I awarded is because you know there are gonna be instances where someone didn't check, and thought it was a join request, and bang their base is gone

It's not my idea but if I understand it right, this is the best iteration I could think of.

Send a request for a merger as you would send a pact request. If they other legion accepts, there will be a notice active for 1 week on that legion's front page and legion info tab. The alert gives the option to accept or deny the merger. Any player who accepts, will be immediately transferred to the initiating legion at the end of the 1 week notification.

To idiot proof it, all leaders with active status must accept the initial request before it will be approved. Also, members will be given the "are you sure" window when accepting the merger, and again before being transferred to the initiating legion.

Bada-bing Bada-boom, all consenting ships are now in the initiating legion.

yeah i like the way folly described it, like when i posted this i was hoping someone would come up with something like that. all I'm saying is that this could be a better way to recruit members.

and to see if the merger is worth it the request could show the legion base level and stuff like that. like info about the the legion who sent the request.

It just seems like you want someone to hold your hand throughout the whole deal... Anyone who's recruiting/merging, should be doing their homework about whats on the table and being offered.

*sigh* You say that as if it's a bad thing. The game should be as user friendly as possible and facilitate the basics of game play. If someone has an idea on how to make the game more user friendly, so be it. Nothing wrong with streamlining one of the many tedious procedures of the game.


Nothing he is proposing would suggest that he "Isn't doing his homework" on the other legions, he is just asking that said homework be made easier.


If you have some reason why this would be game breaking, or allow multi abuse, or some other legitimate concern, please say so. Otherwise, we have heard your opinion and at this point you are just shooting down an idea because you personally don't like it. The fact of the matter is, it's a legitimate proposal, and would be a useful tool for many legions struggling to fill up their membership.

He just wants to simplify legion merging, what's so wrong about that? Besides not everybody logs on at the same time, so the merge could take some time to complete whereas an idea like this can execute that task in a few seconds.

I have to agree with the do your homework part, how many legions have been ripped apart because the merging legions weren't compatible, I can think of a personal example...

My first answer was the simplest. post it in your coms or have the leaders/officers make it an announcement. on where to go. simple. no issues to screwed up with that. if its that hard for them to read the coms or announcement, then post a message on everyones logs..
I'm shooting it down because I want dan to work on stuff that will keep people playing in higher ranks, not holding your hand because people cant read the legion coms/announcement.

our own legion was screwed up for a week or two.
SHADY1245 was let in and made a leader because of a poor vouching(as in he never should have been vouched for), and after being called out as a liar, he booted everyone he could and screwed us up for base production.

That sounds like poor leadership skills to promote someone to leader without knowing them well enough first.

while I got nothing against the idea itself, I do feel that it's a waste of time to implement. Would rather Dan spend his time on some other stuff~
