I tried searching for the thread, couldnt remembered what it was called and the search didnt return anything useful. Also its not on the equations section of the wiki.

can someone please tell me the formula for determining how many rank points - on average - that you have attained per level?

There is no way of doing that unless you have been tracking it from day 1, but I can tell you how figure out how many points/artis have been used on your ship if that is good enough.

Base is 5 per level + Artifact (rescued Prisoners) + NPC Kills (rescued prisoners + Caches can give you Rescued Prisoner) + odd daily reward(usually 2) + if you spin the wheel you may get 5

Unless you sat there are kept track of what part of each of your stats came from prisoners (rank points) vs actual artis like ship-bots and scientists, no equation will tell you your avg rank points per lvl without being skewed by the addition of the artis.

On average refers to dividing the total by your level to get average per level, not a guesstimate. A large part of their ship will likely be from helmsmen/scientists/ship-bots etc so at this point it's too late for a formula to give anywhere near accurate totals

the other formula that i was using to track 'how am i doing' was:

(decks * 1 + cargo / 50 + (engineers+tactical+helmsmen)/2 + researchers / 3 ) / rank

where for:

rank 1-75: 6 is avg, 8 is good, 10 is great
rank 76-150: 8 is avg, 11 is good, 14 is great
rank 150+: 10 is avg, 15 is good, 20 is great

Lol much better, I was gonna provide a similar formula if Elerian had clarified that that was what they were looking for. And yes it works, but to be a little more accurate, you would need to separate out the crew since you get different amounts of the crew worth 2 per point and the crew worth 3 per point. Other than that it's solid, so thanks Annabell.

Well I guess I'm up to 53.75 now. I think cargo needs to be taken out unless your counting all the mass storage pods I get. Also what about all the androids and such? Or are all of these counted as rank points?

I would agree cargo shouldnt count, because it really doesnt affect the strength of your ship, but androids still do.
