it would have to be a trap that can only be used once a day... or even once a week!

Big -1... The halcyon was introduced for a reason, and introducing a second artifact, simply to counteract the original, would be pointless and waste everyone's time and energy. It's either remove the halcyon all together, or nothing.

And @ playret, that doesn't benefit the victim at all. This new way, the victim is guaranteed a disable, and a halcyon guarding an already disabled ship. Wastes the arti, and the death. Halcyons are already abundant enough it shouldn't be a strain to apply a new one if and when yours gets tripped. Not to mention "He can't be attacked by anyone else" assumes any future ships are for some reason unable to just use the bypass again.

1st of it was modified not changed to protect. it was modified to apply to the user and not the attacker. for the they it was being abused!!!!!

however with all the players that are hiding behind them these days I see merit in something like this but as i said only usable once a day or every 72 hrs.

and your only half right the halcyon was intodues to stop the atking player then modified..... to its new state! it never protected the uses way back when only stoped the attacker.

It was added to protect the user, but it was created with a design flaw. The flaw was fixed to make the arti become more effective at what it was created to do, hence the form we see it in now.

Dan isn't going to make an artifact that "Protects the user, except when it doesn't."

The closest he will get is the use of nulls to remove KVT after they have been triggered.

The only time I've "needed" to kill a player was in a war. He thought he was safe cause he had put a halc up. But when he went to bed, I waited for his calming amp to wear off, tripped his halc, waited out the timer, and 0'ed him.

plus it benefits both people.

Attacker: Gets to disable the user

Victim: Only gets disabled by the attacker, then the trap effect remains on the ship. So he can't be attacked by anyone else.

He cant be attacked Nymore hes disabled

This gets a +1 from me and to all saying No to it that you shouldnt be able to bypass halcs... just remember KVT = Null Fuse, QFT = Null Fuse... and how about not even make it an artifact, why not make it an ability with a Cooldown.

You're talking about apples and oranges there ace... KVTs and QFTs affect the ATTACKER. Halcyons affect the DEFENDER. If you take away the ability of people to effectively protect themselves (ie Halcyons) you may as well completely scrap ALL traps, Calming Amps, and PvP. If you take away the ability of people who have NO INTEREST in PvP to protect themselves, they WILL start quitting. Dan changed (yes Chris, changed=modified) Halcyon traps to affect the defender for that specific reason among others. Why would he EVER take that away from them? Everyone bytched and moaned when the halcyon affected the attacker, "Dan it takes too many null fuses to get a disable, waa waa." So it was fixed. If you hit someone with a halcyon, quit crying and go get someone else. People talk about this being a war game. Sorry, but it is much more than that, and you know what? Some people aren't interested in the war aspect. Why take their enjoyment of the game away from them?

my -1 is unnecessary, but its here anyway.
never gunna happen, halcyons are there so a player purely can NOT be attacked. the only time they can is if they are guarding a planet.

I have to agree with Darth halcyon were made to protect the user so why would there be something to bypass it would make them useless at high ranks

Say Dan implements this...
halcyons would no longer have any use so they would have to be removed, making this artifact useless, so it would be removed.
without protection, alot of players would become unhappy and leave. That's less $$$ for Dan.
