To keep track of our crew complement, could we have manifests that show how many members belong to a given species (or manufacture of android) and their percent figures?

Also, if there are more of one species crewing a ship, then they give relevant bonuses. (If Zolazin number a significant part of the crew, then the ship gets a cloaking bonus, as an example.)

We can even have names on the manifest, randomly generated (or renamed to our liking at a cost, of probably credits, I suppose.)

Then next to each name, their ranks, achievements and skill ratings. (Did they help bring down an NPC base? Then that would go towards their achievements and ratings.) The higher their ratings, the more the bonuses rise coming from them.

After all, various award-winning space games have individualized crew manifests and even individual crew achievements. This would give more purpose to GL.

Huh? Your crew is all androids or the race you are playing. You already get a racial bonus. And names? Why would I want to bother Dan with making server space to give names and such to all 20,000 of my crew?

I suppose the idea is a good one if your someone like me who likes to get immersed in the game. However giving them names is just not an option. High rankers have so much crew now a days it's ridiculous.

While where at it why not give name to all the population on my planet ...

We aren't specially diverse? Racial diversity is a growing trend for more workplaces, so we should have inter-species diversity too. I would fully support it.

Besides, I figured that our ships would have a random diversity of species anyway, with -slightly- more being the race we play.

And androids could be diverse too, by manufacturer:

Some could some from Mehr-Soen Droidsmiths, Inc. Others may come from Kinoshita LLC, and countless other manufacturers.
