So my contract is up. I'm thinking about getting a true smart phone (iPhone, Blackberry, Droid, etc....)
Which phones work with GL and which don't? Does any phone work excellent with GL?
Maybe this is the wrong place for this question.
Dan I'm sure it would be helpful to you so you know which phones are giving people trouble. It would be very helpful to those of us looking into possibly getting a new phone.

However, i can tell you that most of the new droids will play GL just fine. I have a devour myself, and it does the job, albeit a little slow, but not terrible.

I've got a Motorola Droid. Its playable. The new scroll bars are a hassle yet but a lot of other helpful changes have gone in recently. It is a bit slower. Think planet maintenance is still easier through a PC. Also some annoyances when you sell something by accident but pretty good overall.
I haven't seen it on an iPhone but might be worth trying.
Verizon works better for me in this area. Coverage is worth checking out before you commit.

Thanks for the thoughts. Verizon is new to chicagoland. I know because I worked on the surveying for over 100 Nextel Towers around Illinois, Indiana, Southern Wisconsin. For Chicagoland go with ATT because they inherited the first cell phone company and have filled in all the holes (for voice coverage) but forget about for iPhone's. Nothing but complaints from my peers who have the iPhone. They love the phone when connected to WiFi but not the ATT network. Also my peers kids love the iPhone Apps. Keeps them quite in the car and other places.

I believe you can play on an ipad, but I've found gl works much better on androids compared to ianything, but that was before a recent improvement to gl for mobile users so that may have changed.
