Would it be possible to have the Planets tab not update while the "Scan Planets" box is open? Instead of updating that page every time you find a planet it could just update when you closed the Scanning box, and that could really help with how long scan runs take. I don't know if it's possible, but it would definitely be nice.

+1 i hate the lag after each 1-2 scans , id rather have one big lag spike then 800 that will make your scan run take 30 mins longer

Yeah, it is annoying having to wait for all those worthless barrens, gas and volcanics to update into your database. BUT... When I do a scan, I have my database on the Recently Scanned filter and I sort by Resource (descending) so the better planets automatically come to the top. Which in one case a couple scans ago was a good thing. I had something pop to the top, looked at it and hello Natty Dice. Also, using that technique, you might be able to sneak an invasion past a Pathway detector.

But if they did it this way, you could just close the box whenever you see a Terra or Gaia or something, and not be slowed down by all those Volcanics and others, so it would still be faster.

I get ya Ferrus... I'm just neutral on the idea.
@Failname.. What kind of defeatist logic is that? You find a good planet. It has a Pathway effect on it when you look at it. You make a go at it regardless of the chance at a successful invasion because sometime in the next 12 hours, the owner is going to flux it anyway. At least if you TRY it forces them to use a hard flux rather than just a TFO. That's the exact reason why I never start a scan run when I have an invasion timer.

Of course, if I used your method I wouldn't've just closed the box upon finding an Irradiated just to discover that it was only Large and 16x

+1. When you're scanning 100 planets or more at time, the lag can get annoying, especially when you're using a less-than-decent computer.

If you sort my your planets while scanning there will be less lag cause the screen wont be trying to integrate each planet as you scan it.
Then when you finish you switch to recently scanned and the system integrates all of the new planets into order at once.

Maybe the way I do it is weird or inefficient? I go to recently scanned, and sort by resource *ascending*, and then use purgers on unoccupied sparse as they come up for cleaner scan results overall...

The other problem is that it renders the already limited Protogrid scan data artifact almost useless as the lag means that you can scan far fewer planets while the effect lasts.
