So limit 10 auction slots

and same amount up to max 10 bid slots for bids where you win on

i believe when a bid is placed it needs to extend the time 5minutes

Each auction could generate a link so that if a players requests something on these forums or in your legion then we could post the link and it would bring that auction up to view.

that would only be good for the seller, not the buyers, theyd be ripped off just because someone else wants it too, so there wouldnt be any real winners except the seller

what it needs most is a buy now option saddly unless you sit down watching every bid like a eagle does a rabbit every bid you make will get sniped from under you making this all but imposable to use by anyone that isnt on 24/7 and on top of that would have to have a top notch internet connection.

[edit] Also to dan, dont be discouraged from the reactions of players over the trading center its new and in all intents its a skeletal version of what it can be. Keep working at it putting more structure on it and fleshing it out and it will become a rather useful part of the game.
Just that right now well......it needs alot of work to it, also I know you dont like the idea of planet trading but it will happen regardless if you even make it a ban-able offense players will still do that.
So if i can offer a little advice make it so it is possible through the Trading center but have it use a artifact that would let a player save the planet data for them to be able to put it up, and maybe a special tax rate that makes it more undesirable to do so, so the buyer and seller would have to make very high prices in order to pull a profit. More or less if you cant stop it at least make it so your in control of it.

It would be good for everyone EXCEPT those that snipes at last seconds.
The other buyers also benefit by having a CHANCE at the item, which they can CHOOSE to not take.

my idea list:

add a buy it now feature.
lower the tariff to 10%.
make it so you can cancel a bid or auction.

perhaps allow dual options:
buy 10 CTP for 10 billion credits
bid on 10 CTP for 2 billion credits

I dislike the auction and would prefer a market.

Sorry, Dan. No other way to put it - the thing leaves very much to be desired:

1 - No refresh - You have to go out and reload the GTC to get an update
2 - Can't sell some artifacts that you can otherwise gift or sell
3 - 1,000 item limit, especially on exotic matter
4 - No option to cancel an auction if there are no bidders
5 - When you open an auction or bid, it's taken immediately from your credits, but apparently, when you win a bid, it takes up to 2 hours to get paid?
6 - No "Buy It Now" option
7 - No number of seconds displayed (because we all try to snipe bids)
8 - Only 3 options for auction length - why not just let the poster set whatever time they want (within some bounds like 30 minutes to 48 hours)

Well, now that I think about it, the seconds for bid sniping wouldn't do much good anyway. The lag on GL is all over the place to begin with, so it's really just a lottery for anyone that bids within the last 10 seconds or so.

Sniping bids in itself is just unfair period resetting the timer to 1-5 minuets after each bid would be reasonable and fair.

How exactly is "snipe" bidding unfair? EVERYONE has the same opportunity to bid at the same time. That's about as fair as you can possibly get. All resetting the timer at the very end will do is drive prices even higher than they already are.

net connection speed, for example, would actually be a factor in a snipe war....
