 Fighter ship Hangar

Title says all. instead of shoving fighterships (from medals) into the weapon tab, we create a different tab called the hangar? and add a new research tree (and new artefacts) for the development and creation of new fighter ships and the alike?

to prevent abuse and have players flying around like super-sized aircraft carriers with a hundred fighter drones, we impose a limit of how many can be active at once until they upgrade their hangar size either with artefacts or with standard modules.

the ships will occupy deck space and the hangar size dictates how many may be active at once. ships will vary in size from a simple small fightership providing some extra damage, to the large gunships packing heavy fire power. we can also have special fighter types like a one-time use kamikaze drone that will do good damage but will be destroyed after combat.

still open to additional ideas

will have to be very limited and very well thought of
the hanger idea may happen , but a hangar system?, mabey but not anytime soon

A million versions of this have been suggested a million times already. I still like it, but whether it will ever be implemented or not, I'm not sure.

There already are fighter craft in the forms of the Cerulean, Nightclaw, and a few other small craft like the convoy shuttles, drone clusters, and Taltherian sentries, but I like the ideas of hangars and specialty small craft. Perhaps it will be added, we'll see.

The Bioship has become a trusted ally in your fleet. However, being that it is organic, it cannot process synthetic fuels. Having been rescued by your people, it has developed a... taste.. for them. To keep the ship in peak fighting shape, it must be fed regularly.

Shovel screaming members of <your race> into its gaping, lamprey-like maw: 1/10 completions

Reward: It's a research structure. It's *always* a research structure. Don't even ask. I guess the ship excretes something and you research it? I don't even know any more.

Um...rather amusing, but I doubt that would happen. Although if the Bio-ship becomes the final mission reward, it would be pretty awesome. It could be almost as good as the symbiosis with the Trellith. Depending on what it did of course.

Its about time those Colossal Galaxy Destroyers (and other large ships) don't crush planets under sheer gravitational pull from being so big. They need something to get the resources of a planet to them while they stay on the edge of the systems.

But wait a minute...what if your crewmembers are also synthetic? I mean, the Vygoid and Zolazin are both cyborgs. If you are a member of that race, I don't think the bio-ship would like to chomp on metal encased computers with extraneous organs attached.

Add a new button under raid, when you disable a ship you can kidnap a crew member and feed it to your bioship.

I hope that when this is implemented since it sounds like it is going to be, that the hanger is a new area of the ship and that it scales with ship size. After all a Scout ship shouldn't have anything but maybe 1 man fighter craft while a battleship should have support vessels as well as gunships. A Galaxy Destroyer should by far have several battleships and thousands of fighter ships to launch at the enemy.

This is something I am rather interested in seeing how it turns out, it always a little odd to me how a huge ship the size of a moon couldn't fit even a couple fighters into a hanger....
