i agree sniping is annoying, but sadly its a part of bidding. we just have to deal with it for now.

i think a buy it now option would be good.

1) This is not a war game. It is a game that has war built in as one of the prominent features. There are players who like to solely fight, and to them it is a war game. There are players who are not interested in that part and focus on missions and other things. The fact that the game has built in features - halcs and calming amps - to stop you being attacked show it is not 'a war game' solely by definition. War is not 'the core feature' as someone stated in here. War andf ighting are ONE of the core features. There are others. Those who focus on war and fighting and simply call people who are not into the war side 'cowards' really need to get a clue. Some people do not like their ships sitting around in space as cannon fodder for aggressive players who are in it for the war aspect of the game. They have every right and enablement to protect themselves from that part of the game, so they can enjoy other parts of the game.

2) snipping is a fact. Comparing online auctions to real life auctions is a non comparison and does not apply. Online auctionsoperate by timers. The biggest auction in human history - EBAY - operates by that very principle - a timer. If it's good enough for them it is good enough for other sites, like GL to do. So stop moaning and gripping over the snipping.

If you want an item, make sure you can be around when the timer ends.

3) Going on about how 'some people do not have the time to sit at their computer all day bidding' is a NON issue on this post - as they would have to be at their computer even if there was a (stupid) anti snipping feature that increased the timer. The anti snipping feature would only work for people who are online - so that line of arguement doesn't apply here.

The solution - play the bidding game. Think before you bid and if you REALLY want an item - have the sense to SNIPE it yourself instead of winging about others snipping it. You can't honestly think you can place a bid 5 mins before an item expires and actually have the cheek to think no one else can come in after you and out bid you. The timer means you have to bid wise. If you are bidding on an item others are clearly bidding on - then be ready for a snipe, and do it yourself. Once someone else out bids you. STOP BIDDING - and let the timer get almost out before you bid again..... that will increase your chances of sucess.

4) I do think one feature that could be improved in this area is the fact that once you ahve bid you are locked ou from bidding again until someone else outbids you. I think a person should be able to bid, then bid again even if no one else has bid. This can help people who have bid put in a last min bid to help protect their winning it, and only if someone outbids them will they then loose. if they loose - suck it up, stop crying and go bid on something else....

5) how do you know people have scrapped the item you bid on? if they want to that's their business, but it's hardly a valid arguement in this post either that 'because people are bidding then scrapping, there should be an anti snipping feature'. Give me a break. You have no idea what they are doing with it when they snipped you. Maybe they wanted it as much - or more than you....

Is there anything this guy doesn't cry about, I mean seriously you are mad because someone else made the effort to watch the auction and keep mediocre track of time the auction ends most likely by simply looking at their watch and got a good deal instead of you getting it. Get over it and look for the next auction................

Or to prevent sniping all together, extend the time to 10 minutes whenever another bid is placed when less than 10 minutes remains.

So all the people have to sit and wait 10 more minutes while others get around to driving up the price as high as they can just for laughs? No thanks. There are already threads in the pub about people doing that as it is.

Honestly everyone who comes to the forums whines and crys over things they dont like. I just point out things in the game that players do that is trolling or could be classed as griefing/harassment.

And to answer something else i dont even use the GTC as soon as i saw no buy now option I realized that you would be getting bid sniped alot, so why even bother wasting the energy to bid?

Also if you had bothered to read half the posts about bid sniping you would notice that I've been harsh to both sides of this argument, The people who bid snipe for fun, and the people who bid using a broken system, both are being childish and foolish.
