Soooo.... Let me get this straight:

Your legion is at war with my legion because one of our members USED to be in your legion where you helped him out and gave him some nice planets and then left your legion, eventually ending up with ours.

You took offense to that ("how dare anyone leave our legion!") and now want the planets back (If you didn't want them to leave your legion EVER, you should not have given them away) AND want to punish the former member for daring to leave your legion. You steal (yes taking back a gift is still STEALING) a couple of planets, get alerted, get pounded, reject all diplomatic attempts to resolve the dispute, even go so far as to using "legalese" and "semantics" to claim innocence, and now cry fowl?

Please tell me where I am wrong in my assessment of the situation.

To get this thread back to its original purpose, I spent some time with DoO a while back and they're all top notch guys. Good ships but in a laid back, good natured legion.

I know nothing of this person posting random trash on another legion's recruitment page, but before I'm even remotely impressed with his disable 'stats', he'd need to show me he took down Oggie.

To be honest with you.. you are probably right with all ur points mentioned above... Also have been terrorizing DoO legion for the past few days as you can see in my posts..and for some reason their highest ranking player Oggie has not attacked me yet not sure why..

I did speak to him on legion comms prior to this and he seemed like a very nice and polite individual also spoke to KenSelvin which he disabled the person that left their legion and did not know what was happening but he did apologize for it..Real nice guy and we went our separate ways with me calling off any alerts..

Next day thier officers did not care for this event and you guys know the rest

That's all it is.. Myself being one of the leaders of my legion we always stick to our decision for some reason did not happened with DoO and not sure why either..

Actually Xeno on the taking back gifted planets is quite the norm, that planet was a gift for a member of his legion. since he is no longer a member of that legion then the gifts are going to be taken back.

Really? Our legion has never gone after a planet that was gifted to a member, even if they do leave. A gift is a gift.

Your legion is the only one that I have heard of taking back gifts.

If that is the rule, I am glad I am one of the exceptions.

Xenophon, it honestly depends on the terms in which someone left the legion. I deliberately keep the scans of all planets I give away in case someone decides to be a dickhead.

You have a good point there...But this was not the case..They took 2 planets back that they give him but then they kept on pounding him for 2 days strait till I got involved after.. cause I tried let things cool off and thier initial responses was "This does not concern you so leave it be"

Really? So I have to sit back and watch a member of my legion get pounded for two days and do nothing about it..and he was guarding his 3rd planet...

Leaving your legion constitutes being a "dickhead"? People are free to leave legions in this game anytime they want too.

So you're saying: "Join my legion! As long as you stay we will share. But you are a bad and evil person if you join and then leave. How dare you. We want everything we gave you back and we will pound you when ever we see you."

Edit: The leaders of my legion have called a halt to the war. In that spirit I am removing what was formally in this spot. Good luck to DoO.

Xenophon, I'm not a member of DoO, so you're tarnishing their reputation for something they haven't said.

Secondly, if you read what I said closely, I didn't say people couldn't leave. I said it depended on the terms under which they left the legion. If they were a chancer who abused the legion rules, then you better believe that I won't feel even slightly guilty about reclaiming planets. The same goes for someone who left the legion under good terms and later on decides to go on some rampage targetting my legion for whatever the reason. If they try and bring the hurt, then I'm going to bring it right back at them. I could come up with a hundred scenarios of when it was and wasn't acceptable if I were truly bored. Fortunately I'm not bored. Just assume that if someone begins to act annoying towards me or my legion, I'll take any planets of theirs that I have on scan whether I gave them or not.

This is in no way trying to own someone's soul. It's called common sense. I have a friend who gives away 16x Mining Toxics. If you don't pay for it, he doesn't purge it in case of douchebaggery.

Then you are commenting on something of which you know nothing, a true sign of ignorance. They actually have said this. They want the planets they gave back because he left their legion.

Also, if you put conditions on your gifts, then they are not truly gifts. Do you let the people to whom you give these "gifts" the conditions under which you will rescind your largess and that you will hunt them down and forcefully retake your so-called "gifts" AND then will have your legion help you pound them.

Never give me a gift. I wouldn't want to do (or not do) something of which you would not approve and demand it back.

True gifts are freely given with no strings attached.

But I guess you and the DoO wouldn't know anything about that.
