Well if you don't need Datacenters anymore, then an extra 700 research points / 17 500 000 credits can add up quickly.

Just a quick piece of math to add to the discussion:
a Rich planet's datacenter will provide as much rp in discs alone 40.5 days after it has been installed.This completely ignores the clouders and grids involved. Of course putting it on a better planet will yield better results. I wonder what a good guideline would be based on this interpretation, as far as weakest rp production that still justifies a datacenter...

put a datacenter on every rp planet. The good ones will make you the rp and the bad ones might entice a low rank to steal it  _________________
