Size Class
20 - 49 Scout: 2 fighters. (those would be the minimum, from the achievements) (or maybe make those specials, that dont take space?) (im open to thoughts and suggestions)
50 - 99 Light Frigate: 3 fighters.
100 - 149 Frigate: 3 fighters.
150 - 199 Heavy Frigate: 4 fighters.
200 - 249 Light Cruiser: 4 Fighters.
250 - 299 Cruiser: 5 fighters or 1 frigate.
300 - 349 Heavy Cruiser: 5 fighters or 1 frigate.
350 - 399 Light Battleship: 6 fighters or 1 fighter & 1 frigate.
400 - 449 Battleship: 6 fighters or 1 fighter & 1 frigate.
450 - 499 Heavy Battleship: 7 fighters or 2 fighters & 1 Frigate or 1 Cruiser.
500 - 549 Light Dreadnaught: 7 fighters or 2 fighters & 1 Frigate or 1 Cruiser.
550 - 599 Dreadnaught: 8 Fighters or 3 Fighters & 1 frigate or 1 cruiser & 1 fighter.
Every other new ship size class would allow 1 more fighter.
1= Dreadnaught = 11 fighters.
1 Battleship = 9 fighters.
1 Cruiser = 7 fighters.
1 Frigate = 5 Fighters.
Of course, Dan has final say in all of this, i just wanted to give my "2 cents worth" as they say.
So, thoughts, suggestions or comments?

I would go with every so many decks allowing another fighter class. Say 50 decks and you can have 1 more. Would give more of a reason to go all out and get a massive ship instead of keeping it small.

I do have to say I would cap it at a certain size (such as when you last get the Colossal Galaxy Destroyer), Size wise I would keep it like the base were you get 5 special slots to start with and 5 more each level. So in this case decks divided by 10 would get you a rough hanger size, but the hanger would only go to the next size when the decks hit the next factor of 50 instead of the next factor of 10. I would go with something like:
1 Fighter = 2 space or 2.5 space (this could change to make everything else work size wise)
1 Frigate = 5 fighters
1 cruiser = 2 Frigates = 10 fighters
1 Battleship = 2 Cruiser (20 fighters makes more sense to me then 9 as that would be a weak battleship) = 4 Frigates = 20 Fighters

With this a Light Frigate would be the first to have a hanger and would start with 2 Fighter spots (size of hanger = 5)


I wouldn't go above Battleships, as they are about as big as I would want to have in a hanger.

Any ship modules that seem to belong in a hanger I would put in a special section that keeps them working the way they already do (they have their own private hangers).

I would have it so the Fighters, Frigates, Cruisers and Battleships offered different things like the variety of Composite Rays that their are. Such as fighters offer more scan as they can slip in undetected into enemy space, frigates more cloak to support their mother ship, cruisers more def. and battleships more attack. Maybe throw in some special things they can offer as well.

I would like if it worked like the Defiant from DS9, able to do stuff the big ships can't. Like, actually play through it by proxy. Hell, make it similar to a multi account in that it gives you a small ship that can pvp lower ranks... the big ships need more stuff they can do to prevent boredom, from what I hear. Idk, just spitballing.

Don't think it is moot, the bio ship is like a special ship and hardly what we were talking about here... It might be like it but doesn't cover much of the ideas we have had here. I got to thinking and it would be nice to have a research tree for ships and a hanger. The hanger could either be like my previous post or else have the research tree let you add larger hangers to ships. Research could also let you have better ships in the hanger. Such as Fighters types 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2 etc. The same as the other modules.
