I'm bored with this game now. A combination of a lack of time, and lack of incentive. I'll be taking a far more passive role from now on. It'll almost be like I've left.
I have a few parting suggestions that could make the game better for everyone, and help to keep new people:
1) GTC: it doesn't really work as an Auction place. people don't bid till the last minute and snipe the auctions. three suggestions for this: * rather than displaying "time remaining", give an approximation. "very long" 24-12 hours. "long" 12-8 hours. "medium" 8-4 hours. "short" 4-0 hours. * allow people to post a Buy it now price, that overrides any bids and instantly sells all the artis for a fixed price. * allow people to sell more than 1000 EM. 10,000 or even 100,000 would be more sensible as a maximum.
2) Legions: they aren't actually good for much. Yes, you can talk to people, and sometimes get help. But most of the time, you're there for selfish reasons. planet bonuses, base production, CT lab, and planet defence/attack. There needs to be more legion co-op tasks. One way to do this could be to make legion achievements. These would be impossible to achieve alone, and NEED lots of cooperation to achieve. They would give loyal members bonuses, such as new titles, or maybe a ship module. The catch would be that for these things to activate, you need to be in a legion that has unlocked these, and have been there continuously for a month.
Also, there are too many legions. there needs to be pre-requisits for making a legion. For example, 5 people need to join it within a week, or it automatically disbands. And you need to be level 50 to form one.
3) Missions: Final suggestion, have a "spend all" function for missions, that will use ALL available energy to advance the mission. this will save a lot of clicking, and will make things a lot easier.

They're all very good suggestions apart from your last two. To start off with more requirements for joining a new legion. The way I see it if people want to start a new legion they are perfectly entitled to do so, it doesn't harm me, in fact it's a benefit from all those glass bases just hanging around. That and every legion has to start somewhere, even if they don't get a certain few members in their first week, doesn't mean thay'll grow to be powerful. Secondly having a spend all function on anything is a bad idea, because as it stands te only thing stopping people rank a thousand times a day is time.

i bought GP to thank Dan for bringing in the GTC, but i agree that it is currently dysfunctional. - a 'buy it now' price should definitely be available, but if provided, the auction time should be set as a fixed time. - yes to a higher EM limit ... but has anyone tried to sell more than 1k of anything else ? it could just be an overall limit that is just most apparent with EM. if so, rather than raising the overall limit, EM could just be sold in lots of 1k, so you could sell up to 1000 lots of 1k at a time. - since it is only 'normal' artis that are available and not planets / fluxes etc., the longest time frames are only used for temp storage. instead, the timeframes should be: - less than 4 hours - less than 1 hour - less than 20 mins - less than 5 mins and masking the exact time remaining would also be a benefit, with a randomized frame-related extension of time for every bid made. - i think sellers should have to post items for an energy cost if the initial selling price is greater than a certain amount ... maybe 100 million credits ? buyers should get 3 'bids' for their energy cost. anyway, now that the GTC has been out for a few months, and the code appears stable, introducing some of these changes should take less time than the initial development. school starts back in a few weeks, so it would be good timing ...
