Disclaimer: I am very much a noob so there is a decent chance that I have no idea what I am talking about. If that is the case feel free to ignore me. Many players have told me that the Sillixx start as a decent race but later on become almost worthless. My idea would be to give the Sillixx a second bonus related to the first (+10% decks). The bonus would be that the extra decks would not be included in any of the damage cap formulas. So that two rank 40 ships (one Sillixx, One anything else) that both have 100 decks would have different damage caps. The damage cap would be lower for a Sillixx (45 as opposed to 50). Or a ship using the rank formula would not go over into the deck formula if the difference came from the Sillixx bonus.

We ignore no one here in the Suggestion Box. But yes, you kinda don't know what you're talking about. The reason people say that Sillixx is a decent race to start with is that it allows you to add extra modules sooner than you would be able to with the other races. However, as you progress through the game and your ship gets bigger and bigger, it gradually becomes harder to get away from Sillixx because you need to either cover the decks you will lose or you have to uninstall modules. When I realized the trap and got out of it, I had to cover around 300 decks to keep all my modules. Best advice is to live with less decks from the beginning and avoid the trap altogether.

Damage CalculationMaximum damage you can take in one shot (damage cap) is the greater of YourDecks/2 or (YourRank+19)/2 So by using Sillixx and getting the 10% extra decks, you are raising the damage you take on every shot because the damage equation uses the damage cap as multiplier and your damage cap is based on your decks (for most people) Hope that clears things up for you.

That is what I thought. More Deck's=Higher damage cap. Sillixx have more decks ergo they take more damage. My suggestion is that the don't take extra damage based on their bonus.

Not necessarily - whether or not Sillix ships have more decks will depend on how the player allocates rank points/uses ship-bots; a player could easily have a Sillix ship that is smaller than the ships of other races at equivalent ranks, by taking advantage of the deck bonus to increase crew instead. The decision to increase deck size is one that results in an increase in damage cap; I don't see why this shouldn't apply to any Sillix ships, given that the damage cap is something we have control over.

Normally you'd take advantage of the boost. If I were to go Aerlen, I wouldn't then remove all of my defence. Same logic applies.
EDIT: Bad example.

I mean relative to how many points are invested in decks. The Sillixx just kind of seem like a bad race to me. Especially compared to most other races (except Humans, lol we suck). And I do mean just the bonus decks not all the decks.

+1
Sillix not having the extra decks (from race) increase damage cap seems like a good idea.

See, I thought the reason Sillix sucks is because you can wear everything in the game with 6k decks, making it a bad plan to put rank points into decks after rank 200ish.
