And alot of low levels are in research bases. 25k/day. Now, when a rank 40 slow ranker who's been in a research legion and has Q-Devs anyway, tell THAT to the rank 24 who couldn't find a legion.

EDIT: And yes, Q-Devs are realistic.

Couldn't find a legion? Seriously? Base payouts do very little to give low ranks an advantage over each other. They only make those lowbies stronger compared to old timers when we were lowbies and didn't have a daily boost like that.

You talk about a slow ranker gaining an advantage. That's fine. That's a strategic decision that takes PLANNING, EFFORT and SACRIFICE. They sacrifice a lot of game features to gain that advantage. Be it mission rewards, NPC drops, etc. Having a null xp mechanism allows people to slow rank while still enjoying the full game experience.

I really can't understand why people can't see that giving people the advantage of a slow rank style without the disadvantages is a good thing. It's bad at any level. Lemme save up about 20 energy refills, pop a retardo-pill and go NPCing for a few hours. Wonder how many Terraformers and Quasis I can find. Betcha I get enough to make a couple pretty sweet planets.

That OR ........

finisht the Talitherian mission as soon as it becomes available w/o gaining a level
OR
get all the red badges needed for a full set of each DOM cannon level at rank 3 <- i know not very realistic but IS an example
OR
well really anything else.

slow ranking is called slow ranking for a reason, its not called stupid ranking its not called handicapped ranking, its called SLOW ranking. If you want the benefits of slow ranking then do it right, if your looking for advice on how to do it, contact AU, myself, TBP, or any other known slow ranker, were not that hard to find. But please lets stop with this overly dumb, never going to happen, suggestion, it has been played out at least - that I can count off of the top of my head - 5 times before.

Grr. I am in AU, I have TBP on my friends list. Please do not think that I am saying this as something that I particularly need. Something I want? Yes. Need? No.

Now, rank 230 Talth. Explain to me, without sounding plain ol' stupid, how exactly that would be any more powerful than a rank 300 Talth? As a slow ranker, it doesn't matter *when* we slow/freeze rank... not entirely anyway. Wanna know what makes slow/freeze ranking more effective? Ranking up.

In no ways, either, does this remove the negative sides of slow ranking. The low planet cap, the low resource cap, the generally low productions. Those are the real detrimental effects. Slow rankers do missions as and when they need, often off-loading a ton of TME/E-Cubes in the process. It's a strange strategy, but one I enjoy. Yes, this would make it more effective, but you're overestimating the effects.

Now. Thinking about your other point. "Let's save up 100 TME and pop a retardo pill!" Yeaaaaaaah, no. Now, assuming that I were to actually do this, if, hypothetically this got implemented, I would have an energy bar of 1200ish. 120k energy is sure as heck alot, but how often would you be able to do that? Once a year?

230vs300(330 cause 300 is impossible but whatever.)
sounds like a contradictory argument coming from a slow ranker.
how is a rank 50 ship with 10k attack any better than a rank 1k with the same?

Actually it does remove alot of the negatives. Some of the best things to improve your planets are gotten how? Npcing. what else does npcing give? Exp. The most exp per energy spent on anything in the game (barring a few early missions) This would allow slow rankers to improve their planets without ranking up.

Now your point about the small energy bar. as it is now there is no need for a slow ranker to have a big energy bar. its just plain useless. but if this were to be implemented that would change. you could easily have an energy bar that would allow you to kill npc's to the point where you would level multiple times normally yet still stay the same rank.
