Surely people play WoW as well as this game, right? Well they have Alliance/Horde war don't they? So why don't we have some of our own?

Well I was thinking of different races having wars with other races or perhaps factions of 2-4 races at war with another faction of 2-4 races. Heres some examples:

Single Wars:

Konqul vs. Sillix
Zolazin vs. Vygoid (constant rivalry)
Inergon vs. Human
Taltherian vs. Xecti
Kronyn vs. Mylari

Race Faction Wars:

Taltherian, Konqul, Mylari vs. Inergon, Sillix, Xecti
Gentarr, Drannik, Lazuli vs. Arelen, Human, Vygoid

Or something like that. Any comments?

I shall type this slowly, so that you can keep up.

To start with, you have pulled an Asheron and pulled a suggestion from a totally different game, and as such it has no purpose here.

Secondly, and you should really think about this, how are we meant to get legionmates to kill each other. I mean, I'm a Mylarai, so if I were to be in the same legion as a Kronyn, what am I meant to do? Zero him? How?

An official, legion vs legion war system on the other hand...

The suggestion has merit.
I'll pull out my writer side and say that the player races should not be at war with each other for several reasons.

• It would make the final mission of the race chains null and void as they are pacts.
• They are part of the galactic community. The organization of the galaxy would make a racial war too complicated, messy and a waste of resources.
• Judging by the patterns of the race chains, the galactic community, as aggressive as it is, prefers to negotiate peace more than start wars. This is proven by the zolazin, xecti and bioship chains.

What would be more appropriate would be npc faction wars. They fall outside of the galactic standard and each faction would realistically want more territory. Fights among each faction would be common this way.

While the rest of the galaxy would not be overall affected by their battles, the effects of it could still show on the npc tab.

• Damaged ships from previous battles
• convoys of ships (i.e. a crimson flamehawk would be replaced by three in the same slot. You would have to take down all three; similar window to blockades)
• more faction blockades, they would be stealing resources for their wars.

That's the basic gist of it. I'm sure people can come up with more complicated ways to show the ripples of npc wars. But for the most part a player race war cannot happen.

If you don't want anything from other games to be seen here, then GL would need a color palette that is different from anything used by any other game. A tall order, ain't it? Oh, and the English language appears on other games. Do you want that gone too?

If other games' ideas improve them, then there's no harm in seeing it improve GL as well.

As for the Idea I agree with Xizen it would be interesting to see faction warfare within the NPCs but also new missions dealing with the various group rebels who are helping you like the newer Rayvn's Return mission against the TO's. I'd like to see more than just a medal over the Lazuli rising against their Leaders or the Gentarr versus the Stryll.
