In light of the sad news that we've all just learned of our fellow player's passing, I believe that since the title feature was put in place, that a special title be put on our members who have moved on to better places. This is not a suggested game feature which can be attained by everyone, something simply as a sign of respect for those we don't wish to forget.

I myself don't know him personally, but I can say I know how it feels to lose a dear friend, and my heart goes out to his friends and family.

Ok, so if this would be done ild say that i died and get a medal and keep playing..

And yes its sad that he died , he was a nice guy but that doesnt mean his death was worse than any of the other 1000 people that die daily

You missed the purpose. This is not worth ANYTHING, it is not an achievement in any sense of the word. It's simply a sign of respect for those who aren't with us any longer.

it's sad that he died, and is a grate lost to GL he was one of the best players we had ship and personalty . But this one is a but much.

memorial wall on FB, confirmation by friends and family, an announcement on the forums... maybe even not saying they were thinking about exploiting something obviously meant to be a memorial...

if word got around about them then yes, but if for some weird reason they log back on then they wouyld have to contact the administrator to revive there acount

Its a nice gesture, but there are likely hundreds of previous players of this game who have gone inactive or left the game due to ill health leading to death, and there is really no way to confirm that fact, short of, as you stated Xzien, an actual confirmation of this person passing via FB or a post to these forums by a family member, which lets face it is extremely unlikely.

The only reason we knew of RandyManning's passing, is because his family knew of his enjoyment of this game and the time he spent talking to the people who play, and so his wife left a rather personal message on fb detailing as such.

On the flip-side there are likely a great many who played this game, who have passed away since its inception, be it through natural causes or otherwise, to assume otherwise would be naive at best. Should they be denied such an honorary title, just because their family choose either to keep that persons death within the family, or because their family knew nothing of said person playing this game.


So from saying all that, such a title would only work if every ship whose account owner went inactive for 3 months got said title, which would be immediately revoked if they returned to the game.



At the same time, such an idea is pretty much redundant, because you wouldn't be able to see this persons ship anymore, so you couldn't see the title anyway.

So i have to give the idea a -1, because whilst its a nice gesture, its inherently difficult to implement and kinda useless given you'll never see it anyway.

yes and if you did this, every player who comes across you, would see your still active and playing. I'd report you just for spite if you did that. this is coming from someone who actually died 6 times while going through intensive surgery a few months back. my wife took the time to report in a thread on here, my condition, so my friends would know what was happening. truth be told, cheyenne did that out of the kindness in her heart, so my friends wouldn't be left in the dark. so shut up and get lost. have some respect for those who've died, or nearly died.

seriously who cares giving someone a title in a freaking game because they died is earlier disrespect
and death will come so shut it , if you're afraid of death you're not living in the first place
