i know i posted this idea before a long time ago and many agreed with it and everyone put a tweak to it.
its besacially a rare NPC that you kill to gain 1 random artifact.
New NPC that been seen by rank 150-1000
kill it and get a random Artifact (yes even ship bots and prisoners) that can be aquired via shipment
thats 1 artifact per kill on them.
it doesnt give you a fix on 1 artifact but just everytime you kill one it acts like arti shipment, randomly gives you an artifact
ppls ideas:
can it gain dark badge? possibly have a common and uncommon version

I found the original thread and I agree with the part about there being more than one version of this NPC, common, uncommon, rare, extremely rare, with the types of artifacts you can receive from them being different with each.
Common: drops random artifacts from the shipment list.
Uncommon: drops random temporary effect artifacts other NPCs can drop(crimson amplifier, shockpulse charger, etc.)
Rare: drops random permanent effect artifacts other NPCs can drop(lazuli parts vault, eruption channeler, etc.)
Extremely Rare: drops either random ship modules other NPCs can drop or drops some type of module specific to the Hydras.

If this idea comes in it better be for higher ranking players as well. Or at least have an upgraded harder to kill but gives something a little better version come in.

Considering its name is hydra.... I kinda feel that whenever you kill a uncommon or above hydra, 2 hydra of one lower rarity should spawn.... Could have a Boss one that doesn't drop anything but give every ”rewarding player" 2 extremely rare hydras each
Another question is, does it only drop unlimited common/NPC artifact? Does that include event-type NPCs such as the banes? what about base crate artifact? GP artifacts? (TO Carriers drop QSE extremely rarely and we have flux from arm carriers(?), so it's not completely unfeasible for an NPC to drop ANY GP artifact at extremely low rate) Battle Market artifacts? Unlimited mission artifacts? (flux orb, T attractor etc) In fact, maybe some of the weaker/less valueable limited mission artifacts such as adaptive spire or heat seeker can also be considered. Certainly no CCMs and things of that caliber, that would be too much. But the less powerful stuff, especially planet structures that you can already have 20+ of, can be considered.

Uncommon versions of the hydra and up are limited to NPCs only, but that doesn't include mission exclusive NPCs, so base crates are not possible rewards you have to work for those, and its understandable that at some point a hydra could have scavenged something from a bane, scruuge, or other limited time NPCs. Also GP exclusive artifacts are not part of the equation, they stay GP exclusive.
