very well put pony, its sad to see people start all over because theres nothing left to do, you work hard for years to reach the top only to be left with 4 choices; 1 restart and lose everything youve worked so hard to achieve, 2 make a new account to transfer your planets you spent alot of time and money on only to be labeled a cheat for doing so, 3 continue doing the same mindless dribble and scanning continously for planets only to be disappointed time and time again, or 4 walk away from years of hard work and many friendships made.... we need something to look forward to in the future, not something to hinder our growth in fear of the game weve all come to love is going to become stagnant and dull

If not keeping the same TO and Harvester a stronger model starting to show up around rank 1750 like an Armored troop carrier or an irradiated harvester much like how the flamehawks replace the hawks. They could have the same drop rate just higher scaling on stats to prevent them from being too easy at top ranks, for the arts they drop, people will still kill it regularly, there is even a basis within the game for the upgrade for the troop carriers with the newer expansion of the TO mission set they could release stronger ships for the new project.

Man, that makes me, at the lowly rank of 870, seriously consider stop buying GP. Dan, turning troop carriers and harvesters off at any rank is SUCH a bad idea...

Not sure if dan ever at some point had a reason for this but as the game is i cant really see one. the only thing this does is takes away from the growth of the very highest ranks who at the point arent even the fastest growing. this in a small drawn out way would give brand new players a small way to catch up(something that is sorely needed) as they can get those artis that the highest ranks can no longer get. this is the only semi rational reason i can come up with for this, but it is not a good way to go about it. the new players already get more of a bonus from the protecting of crazy high invasion costs. as it stands late game has lost almost all the fun other than what can be obtained through bases. if the goal was to help new players it would be much better to increase their growth rate than to impede and basically stop the players who have been proven to be dedicated to the game from increasing their own growth.

maybe this all was oversight
maybe there is a reason none of us can find

it has just started to become a problem though. and its something that needs to be dealt with before more paying dedicated players are lost.

Well Dan said he was going to up date a lot of the old NPC's that we lost do to ranks maybe he will do the same with these at that time. :D

+1 from me definitely, there shouldn't ever be a punishment for excelling at a certain aspect of the game, and yet that's what it appears you are faced with upon reaching rank 2000 and then again at rank 2200.

Its great to hear that there are certain upgrades coming for "some" NPC's, but how about the other NPC's that won't be a part of this "some" mentioned? Which for all we know, might not include Troop Carrier's or Blade Harvester's, which are needed, because unless done, it still means that playing this game with any frivolity or ability to better ones self beyond rank 2200 is a no go.

After all, need i bring up the debacle that was the Kelethor introduction. Which was meant to be the first new NPC in a wave of NPC's being introduced, yet its taken another thread entirely to even hear a response about these new NPC's, and all we're told now, is that during the holiday season, they will be introduced. Also, less we forget, the rarity of actually finding the damned NPC, and that was at just 4500 cloak, god knows how rare it will be if we get 5k-6k cloak NPC's introduced.

Which part of the upcoming holiday season?(thxgiving/xmas/newyears/valenties), they all fall into the category of upcoming holiday seasons, lol.

Lastly, lets take a constructive look at the post by Dan.

So in summary, its great that we're gonna get some new NPC's and its great that Dan is dealing with the issue of losses of certain races of NPC's in bringing them back to the higher ranks, so kudos to Dan on that. :D

All i think we are all saying is, for the NPC's you don't intend to re-create or make better, raise the rank limit on them, until such time as you can make them better. :)

Kirk. I hear what your saying but getting down on Dan a day after he says he is doing something that we have been begging him to do for months and months is not cool. You have no idea what he will be up grading or how he will be doing it. I say wait till he comes out with the upgrades and then go from there. Also while yes he did say the word some in there he also said the word several. Which it will be I'm not for sure maybe somewhere between the two. lol I say just wait and see.

I can't wait to see Dan's new updates..I for one have been slowing down my ranking between events to minimize the loss of elites and even though I'm currently under rank 900 the effects are still pretty obvious so I can imagine how people over rank 2k or nearing 2k must be feeling.It's obvious we all love this game since we stick around even if sometimes there are dry spells when it comes to new content, which is understandable, but with absolutely nothing to look forward to or motivate us to rank past a certain point this game becomes less of a relaxing break and more of a chore.I really do hope this issue gets adressed because it would be a shame for so many people to have absolutely no reason to continue playing in the next year or so...

as much as I would like new NPC's I just want T.o's and havesters back. I dot care if he brings out 50+ new guys. if some thing to increase minning and AP is not there then I see it as pointless.

It seems unlike many other games your reward for dedication is to loose everything good in the game, prime play time is rank 1-600 after rank 600 there is just a void of new material know high rank missions we've had two new npc's but it's hardly enough pvp starts to die out within the next year there will be a lot more rank 2k ships but i cant see them sticking around for long when they have no npc's no missions planet invades are 120B+ so even scanning all the time becomes less worthwhile because it's to expensive to colonize only leaves bases and not many people are going to stick around just for those.

We need to Keep T.o's harvesters and we need to start seeing content for high ranks that is challenging and rewarding not only for the high ranks now but for the lower ranks to aspire to. i know alot of us sub rank 1k are slowing are ranking down to avoid loosing everything we enjoy.

I personally don't mind the invasion cost. It should cost that much more to take more planets when we have that many planets all ready. I just don't think taking our only way to make our new planets much much better is a great idea. lol

i can semi agree and disagree, at those ranks you SHOULD be stealing planets, maybe dan is FORCING you to do that, but there are some folks who DONT steal, and those are the folks who are going to miss out.

if you do steal, do you steal the x5 very large terra, or wait and hope that the owner doesnt notice that you have it on scan, and enhances it to a massive gaia x17 ?? so the debate is a mediocre x5 or nothing(most likely outcome from waiting), or the rare noob who doesnt probe their planets, and get rewarded with a theft...

it does seem wrong that you lose the ability to enhance your planets in any way other then enumerartion crystals.. which are rare enough.

i wouldnt mind seeing a variety of new npcs added/replacements for whats there... whether the npcs are matched or not, their should be new skins/designs, abilities added
