I am not on the forum much and this idea may have already been brought up... i don't know but let me know what you think... early in the game most people are so rich with credits they don't know what to do with them as time goes on however you become much more hard pressed to pick up lots of mining planets to keep up with items you have researched, repair bills, upkeep, and so on.... to fix said problem i would like to see an NPC that drops credits when disabled or maybe a few that drop credits along side their normal drops. perhaps a ship from the dark smugglers guild that is hulling large amounts of galactic money to help in the formation of new bases such as the (dark ring) and (dark complex). it would not be a rare NPC but an uncommon much like (dark trafficker) or (stryll trapper) that is also ranked in the same way allowing the amount of credits to level as you do... much like robbing a bank truck. The ship should have a name such as "dark mineral transporter" with the usual high defense and low level attack all dark ships have in the game.

I like it as well as long as the scaling is good as you rank up.

i think what he was saying is that the amount of credits needs to go up as you rank up well enough for it to be worth it to keep on killing them as time goes on

I think I understood what he meant and I was pointing that as the experience you get from the NPC's doesn't scale up, au contraire latley, there isn't much of a chance anything properly scaling.

true ... there are many flawed systems in the game... lets say you have way overstepped your research for the level you are at, then the credits this NPC would drop would be close to useless.. same if you have a ton off hull and close to no defense then it would also be less worth while. But from a different side lets say your weapons are very well researched to the point that killing a sha'din charger, crimson hawk or other NPC of about the same difficulty level only takes you 2 or three shots then you above the ranking ability of the NPCs you are fighting.... this NPCs worth would almost have to be based on how you have played the game to this point. there is no true way to satisfy everyone's needs in the game but regardless it would still be a nice change to have an alternate way to pick up credits other than just mineral pulls and daily rewards

You will be wishing you had more creds. 2.2B creds is nothing at higher ranks. My daily upkeep alone is 13.9B a day. I just bought a new modal that cost me 21B creds and 200 Aidonium. Two of them. I have also spent close to 80B creds helping friends and buying artifacts form players. I'm sorry but as time go's on you need more and more creds and since I can no longer do missions that give them I would like to see another way to get some money.

I have no problem with common NPCs dropping off some minerals/credits. Sure, I don't expect to get rich from them but it is a nice second reason to farm them.

I'm currently starved of money almost and i have to consider banking for a while to be able to realistically compete. I could of course switch some planets around and load for mining but i'm focusing heavily on research for the moment.

Ya know I just realised the Dark ring already does this in a way when it gives the dark smugglers cache how hard could it be for Dan to rewrite some of those annoying dark warpers to drop the cache as well ?

The Cache is a very awesome artifact that should not be dropped by anything less then a very rare NPC. I do hope though that Dan does make more NPC's that drop this. I haven't got a cache in over 200 ranks.

kevinthebruce wrote: horrible idea! i at level 103 am swimming in over 2.2 billion credits if you need more credits find a mining planet I'm rank 165, and have half that, because the structures I have cost 75 million a PIECE, and I have 40 planets, most very large or better. Not to mention reactors that cost over SEVEN HUNDRED MILLION. Great idea.

2.2 bil is nothing kev my friend i could easily spend 10 bil in a day just to update my ship and planets.. wait till you get to such ship mods as null rays and up and planet structures +8 and up then tell me about needing more mineral planets ant the point when you are spending 200k res and up to get to the next researched thing you 2.2 bil will be nothing

and when i said 10 bil in my last post that was a rough guess... i was way off it would coast much much more than that.. you will realize why this is a good idea soon enough just give yourself about 60 or so more ranks and you will just start to see what i mean see what i mean

You could justify it in that you are turning the ship into scrap metal and selling it.
