Does not work that way, if you do not have it in your scans naturally (alerts will not work), there is no other way than for the original owner to abandon it. Well, technically, if the seller has another collaborating person with the planet on scan, then the system might work, but that is unlikely, and cumbersome.

your legion must be filled with idiots then.. or your bothering everyone... why would they not let you back in, your theoretical trip would take less then 5 minutes.

leave legion, yes, apply, get accepted, planet alerted, snag, leave legion, yes, apply home... the longest part is the application process, the game likes to take its time alerting the leaders/officers that someone has applied..

Wurks liek dis- you join legion, uplifter alerts unocc unlifted planet, you colonise, leave legion, he takes it back and uplifts then you conquer it back off him again.

Ask Tree from EotS, im in the process of buying 4 off him this way

Or he could join a legion, alert a unnocupied toxic for the seller, then he leaves the legion.The toxic is uplifted, he invades the planet while he is not in a legion preferrably (working on the lone conqueror medal aswell with this occasion lol).Win win, the seller will pay less credits to colonize the planet and the buyer will have the chance to work on the medal:P

If you can come over to EOTS i can build a toxic for you but you'll need a VL rich toxic not going to waste Gp dropping a planet.
