Hi all

I was thinking about when new players begin playing GL and wish to join a legion they only really go through the 1st 20 pages or so to find one.

I find the flaw with this is that legions which have been around for ages and/or may still not have a full legion lose the chance of promoting their legion to others due to the fact it goes further down the line as new legions are made.

So, what I was thinking was what if when choosing a legion to join the pages were set alphabetically? For instance you have pages going from A to Z naturally which a player can click on and from there they can view all the legions beginning with the letter A etc. The newly made legions would be at top but you could also include a filter system to view maybe only the highest ranked legions, the oldest legions or only the legions with space etc.

It would be taking the legion system to the next level what do you think?

My idea to stop all the random noobs from creating a legion would really help

that idea was shot down for fair reasons. while i supported it i did understand where the other side was coming from. with this no one will be restricted and new players will have a good way to find decent legions.

Something like more than x amount of playerz. 20-30 players, or something like that, also, a average rank x to y filter, and an average strength x k to y k filter.

It doesn't matter how many criteria you add, if you are sorting in any specific order you are promoting some legions over others. The only way to not arbitrarily promote a legion is to make it random, or do as Rav suggested and add search filters. Alphabetical, if anything, would be worse than sorting by newest since whatever legion is first (Let's call them AAA Aardvarks) will end up being first until someone makes a legion to intentionally be at the top of the list.

Yah, just randomize it. Makes everything simple.

OP is in Alliance Fleet. Of course he wants an alphabetized setting!

I thought the person meant have a list with the letters A - Z click a letter then it brings up a list with legions starting with that letter.

This option on top of a filter system would be appropriate. I think this would bring a little "random" factor where someone could just click a letter and go from there. But...legions would still have priority over others.

Last time I saw an idea proposed to change legion list. It was argued that 1. If you're new then if you stay with the game, you will seek out a better legion thus finding legions that are beyond the first dozen legions in the list. 2. Finding legions are easy enough due to being able to click legions through friend list and bt.

So yes, it would do something but would not change much. Like, M&Ms being in a bag, you get the ones that are closest to the hole you make. Then filtering them by say: pouring them in a bowl...but you only see the ones on top so you can pick and choose but you still don't know what could be beneath. The only way you can get exactly what you're looking for is to dig until you find it or set them all out and pick/choose which one you want. (Feel free to substitute some other appropriate food item)

Yer that sort of thing could work depending on what your looking for for one plus some of the best legions do not have full legions any way. Also as their are so many full legions like others have said it could produce 10 legions at a time or show 20 depending on the players filter.
