 how about dan makes a contest since we have several artists playing to where they pick a new ship design?

I actually had a go at this a few days ago...

but some people put some really big effort into this... rewarding is a form of motivating them... well, the prize doesn't have to be big... maybe 20 GP for the winner should be fine

Seriously though, I rather doubt there is any chance in hell of player created artwork ever getting into the game. Why, you may ask? Because Dan's got his own art department (or at least he did at one time) and he buys licensed artwork from a particular site. You know, an actual business. Not Joe Schmuck FB game player extraordinaire. It's called lawsuit security.

Agreed, If a player submitted art that was later found to be copied in someway Dan could face a lawsuit over unlicensed use of copyrighted material. And as it is simply impossible for Dan to check every users submission this idea is never going to get off the ground. _________________   |

ok, i see... but i don't think that this is totally prohibited because there was this game i used to play a while ago called tribal wars... they are really famous an all... they do these competitions for best artwork all the time and they give out prizes too... people come up with such good ideas that they use them on their website... so i don't know if it's totally wrong to do something like that... just saying
