I don't know how well it would be received, but I always thought that a commerce bay was lacking. Why not make it work for the legion in more ways. We have the Galaxy Trade Center thats not connected, but what if it was? What about some kind of Galactic Stock? Or loans or even trading futures? Just an idea, when you tie in some other things like trade routes and trade pacts and even embassies, this would open up a whole new dimension to the game. It doesn't have to be so complicated like the real life equivalents. Anyways have a go at me, I'm here all weekend, lol.

Can you explain? Stocks / investments deal with company's and their products. So don't really see how Dan can implement this. Not sure how you can make someone payoff a loan they might not be able to afford.

With a commerce bay, each base would be considered a "company" that you could buy and sell from, some bases produce an ungodly amount of resources, you could trade these excess resources for another you don't have. Being able to better use the commerce bay in conjunction with the trade pacts to sell your artifacts for CTP or EM is just one example, yes. Planets shares through your trade pacts would be possible. As far as loans are concerned, the easiest way I can see to pay off a loan is to raise the ship upkeep till the loan is paid for, or increase the "taxation" of sold resources. This would stay in effect till the loan is paid for, whichever legion the player decided to jump to. As far as my idea if trading "futures", in a sense you could make a schedule to trade say 10K EM for 20K Research every other day, or on Tuesday each week. Of course limits would be imposed on everything, only one loan per ship, and loan amount based on your mineral production. Planet share to one person on your trade pact per normal time limit of planet shares. You can only base trade once per day per trade pact, etc...If we move or integrate something equal to the trade center to each commerce bay, with trade pacts you could buy and sell artifacts without limit. With this in place a fair and balanced pricing schedule could be enacted, based on the fluidity of the item traded. Payment and transfer of goods would be automatic. Anyway, just wishing on a star here, but there it is. Wanted to know if there was any interest before I went into any real detail. I am not a computer wiz or an economist, but the added dimension of a true trading system would be a benefit to all (with bases that is) and would encourage others to stay in legions instead of jumping all the time. No, the commerce bay deals with credits, so if you wish to improve on this then it would have to be credits only. Sorry but if your gonna sell artifacts, or other special materials then it would have to go for credits only, why ( because like the US dollar, credits are a primary currency in the galaxy. ) Sure you may make good points as to why we should use CTP, and EM but the fact of the matter is Credits are a currency used by everyone who plays GL, whether its paying for your upkeep, building planet structures, ship mods or repairing broken ship mods everyone use's credits. This suggestion takes away from the GTC, if anything the GTC should be improved so it acts like a store and at the same time a place to go bidding on artifacts / special materials.

* Planet shares vie trade packs, would have to be unoccupied. If your selling an enemy owned planet then your gonna have to leave the legion.

* How would you trade EM for research? Not giving said player EM for research I hope, can be easily exploited by mulit's.

-1, Traders can go geek out on the FB pages that are already set up. Don't force the rest of us to play wall street too. The commerce bay already serves a valuable function by letting you avoid tariffs.
