*NOTE I do not buy GP*
Back in my day... Collect a daily reward after playing Galaxy Legion for over 1 year. Reward 117/365
So ya, here's how my stats add up as of right now:
SC1ON the Black Hat Rank 23 Sillixx Explorer
Energy: 162 Hull: 975 Shield: 120
Decks: 184/184 Attack: 277 Defense: 456 Scan: 61 Cloak: 50 Cargo: 405 Upkeep: 74.5M
162 Engineers 4 Tactical Officers 22 Helmsmen 34 Scientists
Battles 973 (Seasoned) Player Kills 47 Deaths from Players 27 (mostly alerts) Non-Player Kills 15 Planets Found 66 Planets Occupied 6 Planets Captured 15 (there was a legion incident. I also did football a few times) Missions Completed 0 Scans Performed 168 Successful Hacks 2644 Successful Raids 114
Ship Class Heavy Frigate 1x Light Null Ray, 1x Fermionic Plating, 2x Decryption Quad-frames, 1x Trans-temporal Nacelle
RESEARCH: Null Rays 1/3 Advanced Power Systems 0/3 Force Obviator Fields 1/3 Stealth Systems 0/3 Fermionic Unification 1/3 Trans-Temporal Travel 1/3 Subspace Sensors 2/3 Stellar Engineering 2/3 Advanced Logistics 0/3
Productions: Mining: 5 Artifact: 475 Research: 5416
Questions What should I research next? Should I aim early for autoblasters? How well am I doing? Is it better to sit at this rank and zero raids, or PvP and rank up a lot for proteans, then zero raids?
Goals 1000 raids asap Autoblasters (earlier than later preferred) +12s...? A lot of the energy branch done Im hoping...or does this not make sense based on my build?

Yep, lots of patience there - awesome work and stats. Firmly recommend Proteans as soon as you can, as you suggested. I'm assuming you are getting financial aid with your limited mining production, so +12s is also a great idea, especially at such a low rank. I'm guessing you're only going good arti planets and VL Rich Toxics from here, which will set you up very well indeed. Great stuff, glad I'm not just starting, I was Rank 20 after 2 days

Play style like this is just not smart, its downright a waste of time. You'd be much better off to rank up normally and fill up more and more slots with arty planets. Ranking like this only does you well if you've at least 10k Arty pet hour. Plus, you're still only holding a ship strength of 32. Only thing ill congratulate you on is you hacks medal, but otherwise heed my words.

Deigobene - yes I posted this after I finished all the research goals I wanted before I started PvPing. Hoping to get started soon.
Christian - Well, progress in this game is indeed marked by how fast your production can grow and how much your ship improves over the shortest time possible. But thats not why I play this game. Im playing to experience every possible opportunity this game has to offer before moving forward.
My goal (I know clearly this is a painstakingly slow process and pointless from a progress/time perspective) is to surpass TBP. The reason why my ship strength is so low is because Ive been at a Research Legion since I started so I could get my obs and get + 12s done.
I will eventually be moving to an arti legion in a while, but who know's when. Ship strength ratio is my representation of progress. Reaching a ratio of 32 in a pure research legion is something Im proud of. All your seeing is a milestone along my plan where I decided to post my first achievements. Artifact production is next.
I'm not worried about planet slots and slot availability. In those 117 days, I also generated enough profits I can afford to buy my own artifact planets. None of my planets were given to me by my legion. One was plasma'd with their help and I will admit they have been great support since the start.
Time and patience is on my side. Sure I couldve been rank 200 by now. I could have a good ship, but I could not have an impossibly hard ship. That's what I want. And I can't get that if I rank up normally.

Good lofty goals Z3RO, I think you have a really good handle on your long-term plan. Well done on your research, and great plan to get into more reds and yellow with your PvP. Lots of reds for your 4xDom MkIIIs at 100, autoblasters as soon as you get the medal points and lots of reds to lock bases. Attempt a raid with every disable and maybe throw in a bit of ice-fishing for yellows occasionally, if you feel like you are ranking too fast. I'd suggest that for a while you pretty much rank up at whatever speed all the reds, yellows and blues will allow you to, investing more in TOs. A nice natural PvP pace would open up lots of good NPCs for you and allow you to generate more artis, sooner. This could be very handy, especially with your long-term goals in mind. As you mention, a switch to an arti base would also help a lot ...the sooner, the better. Happy hunting

given your patience so far, i would stay at your rank and get the easy raids while continuing to finish off whichever research you have left that is important - the base stuff to open up the ct-lab comes to mind; if you can afford to buy arti planets, scan is less important, but energy can still come in handy. if aiming for autoblasters, get as many of the medals that are as easy to get at your rank as you can. listings of badges that other players have used can be found in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=31516and yes, you are correct to ignore the naysayers. as you said, you do not wish to become them, but crush them under your heel ....

Some nutcase like you (you're not the first I've seen) will definitely do well in AU. When you've taken all the RP you need, feel free to come over. I've been making really really slow progress recently, I have no doubt your ship will surpass mine in the future.

"Any advice appreciated" - When your ship is so good that it's fairly obvious you know you need no advice. This is a fairly obvious "look at me" thread.
That said, your ship is great for your rank (largely aided by those research mods, though you have more energy than the average rank 24 of course), but the main thing holding you back at this point is your low rank. The only thing that could help you improve is gaining greater AP, and I would presume your planet slots are all full, nullifying that potential, and gaining ranks/decks (ranks could be overlooked if you had more AP) to install the rest of the "important" researched mods.
