Best advice for dealing with Combat Reputation: IGNORE IT. It's completely meaningless.

I am not worthy to argue with Darth Flagitious, but while Combat Rep doesn't mean everything, having a bad one does mean you are immediately a more likely target on the BT.
People are always more likely to take a nibble, especially if your deaths are high and kills are low, but you can always improve Blackfox.

You just need to make sure you disable a couple more each day than you get disabled and after a month or two you will notice the difference :)

While true people look for it, side note : personal preferance i would much rather have a laughable rep.

I'm guessing the topic of improving combat rep has probably been dismissed already but the BT isn't the only place to look, look at your ship log for players that hacked you, ships that do a lot of hacking aren't usually very strong. At least from my experiences.

Didn't see anyone post this so he could see where he needs to be to begin improving his rep: (these are kills vs. disables, so once you get up to only 49 more deaths vs. kills, you will start to improve beginning with "Feeble")

-50 or -more Laughable
-49 to -40 Feeble
-39 to -30 Weak
-29 to -20 Passive
-19 to 10 Balanced
11 to 20 Harmful
21 to 40 Dangerous
41 to 80 Deadly
81 to 160 Menacing
161 to 320 Savage
321 or more Insane

Well, the day I posted that, 3 out of the 4 ships that hacked me overnight (and did nothing else) I disabled really easily. I'm guessing this probably changes at higher ranks?

No- not really. there are some very good ships that hack- but in general those that specialise in it stay weak until they get to the point where they have all modules loaded- so at a very high level- well over 600 usually. I love finding zolazin on bt usually. They die quickly and quietly

Believe it or not I was at laughable combat rep. Just start a spree on the bt. If you get disabled.. kill 2 on bt. Keep doing that ratio. Make it easier make sure you trap probe and tap and move on people with 3 disables 3 raids 3 hacks.

A good way to improve combat rep is not to piss off players so much that they have to kill you repeatedly huh
