 Alternate means to obtain Exotic Matter

As it stands right now, the game doesn't have a sustainable way of obtaining exotic matter.

Before legion missions were introduced, you really only needed a reasonable mineral production for sustainability.

However, with quite a few legion missions requiring as much as 100k exotic matter every 3 days, you need an exorbitant amount of mineral production to be able to sustain your own exotic matter supply(60k mph = 1200 exotic matter), let alone assist legion mates, as well as being able to complete missions such as temporal flux mission and stellar cartography.


To that end, i would like to suggest several ways of obtaining exotic matter on the open market as well as via other means.

First Suggestion: Make exotic matter purchasable, much in the same way you can buy minerals at the moment. Market Value of 1Bil credits = 10000 Exotic Matter. This would finally give exotic matter a rate at which it can be purchased, as well as a consistent CTP Value too.

Second Suggestion: Alter the game code to supply double the exotic matter that it currently does from your mineral pulls.

Third Suggestion: At 100Mil Research Completed, you are given an ability that converts Research into Exotic Matter; 4 Research Points:1 Exotic Matter Ratio. Cooldown = 84 Hours.

100k every 3 days is a exaggeration. There are 8 different missions, 3 tasks each. There are only 3 tasks that require EM, 100k, 120k, 135k respectively. If you do an average, that's only about 15k/task or 5k/day.

I suggested a long time ago to be able to have an exotic well effect on exotic planets that would give more EM per pull.

Maybe it is time for an artifact that increases EM production.

I do think altering production in pulls does make the most sense.

Don't forget, you need more for the Stellar Cartography mission also.

It is annoying that I need to add mining not because I need credits but because I don't make enough EM.

I like the First suggestion - nice and easy to implement

i've been adding MP only for EM. dont like trading much. Would be nice to have it balanced out.

constraints are what make this game interesting. everyone was giving EM away before, but now can not get enough. mining planets should have their place.

Mining planets loose there worth when you have to pay 100b to colonize 1 planet would take 200 days for that mineral planet to pay of it's colonize costs...

At the very least it adds more interest for people that can't do legion missions with a ton of EM to sell.

Exotic Matter rates are out of hand. Why have Exotic planets if the provide nothing more than regular planets. I like Kirks suggestions but also think that there either be a mission (x10) artifact that only works on exotics to produce em. This will make exotic planets worth taking. Oh.. sorta like EXOTICA. Or make a third EXOTICA reward that grants you a non-extract able arti that produces em after holding exotica 24hrs.

I'm horny for exotic material.....

Rather then make it into a planet like exotica that will only help one legion at a time. Make the fix apply to every one.

Exotic Material Generator

Either a ship mod or a planet artifact that has the ability to replicate
exotic material.

Planet : It would be able to mass produce the EM (X) planet mineral resource rate.
Ship : It would be able to duplicate the EM (X) the mineral shipment rate.

Figuring out the "X" is going to be key, we don't want it too OP & UP at the same time.

If it was a planet what would be a fair rate?
8-10% of normal production?
Maybe add a new structure that requires em to make, but products em?

Add a new planet structure tree for a 4th planet structure, EM Harvester going from +1 to +12. And add EM specifically to planets as a 4th production stat. That way people have to literally have Exotic Matter production planets and then remove EM from mineral shipments completely.

Colonizing planets for EM is the best solution long term, that way people can literally get as much or as little as they feel they need and it can still be traded.

Should add an additional welcome element to planet trades and conquests too.
