BM50 Convoy Shuttle Special Defense - Size:20, Defense:100, Defense Bonus against Enemy Bases:+5%
An advanced shuttle designed for guarding and support.
Installs a BM50 Convoy Shuttle with your ship. Limit 3 per ship.

But, when I try to install.
You must reach rank 50 to install this item.
It doesn't say that on the list before you buy it =/

I've noticed that a lot of items need to be labeled in the same manner as well in the Market.

Been brought up before, see no reason for Dan to change this.
It's faster to rank like a normal player and hit rank 50 instead of ranking once a month to bully new players, than it is for Dan to change this.

I reset 3 weeks ago, so try again.

This, again as I keep repeating myself, is another issue that members
who have surpassed what is needed, shoot down what should be done
to help new players.
Isn't that what the suggestion section is for?
Or am I wrong and it's for high ranking players to shoot down ideas that don't apply to them?

NEW players shouldn't even have those yet.

Really? Why not?
If a new player joins, and joins an established legion that battles bases
what do you think is going to happen?
He's going to get silver badges, that's what's going to happen.
When he tries to spend them to help his ship there should be a note, just
like on the Dominion Cannons, that you need a specific rank to purchase.

That's all I'm asking, just put it in there to alert them.
If a new player doesn't know, he's going to waste them and get
mad because it doesn't say that any where and stop playing or possibly quit.

Alright, time for the obvious reply:

It says BM50 so you should've known it was for rank 50, obviously.

We haven't had it before, so we don't need it now.

It's your fault you bought it, just learn from your mistake.

It doesn't make sense for you to know the requirements of something before you get it; maybe if this was a children's game, but in games for adults you buy first, find out the requirement later. If you don't like it, go play Farmville.

EDIT: My mistake, go play Angry Birds instead. This game has higher expectations.

Because of what FerrusManus said.

I'll be hitting 50 soon, so, no mistake there, it will be installed.
I'm pointing out it should be labeled just as the other items in the market are.
It is not in the wiki what is required, but the other ones are.

It needs to be addressed is what I am saying.

Because of what FerrusManus said.

Exactly. If any of you guys have played Dragon Age, Borderlands, or similarly poor quality games, you'll probably have noticed that you see the requirements for equipping gear before you buy it. That's because those games are for children. If you want to play a real game, you're playing GL, and you're not asking to know the requirements before you purchase things. Those games suck compared to GL, and this is exactly why.

So by what you're implying, we should just delete the wiki, and everything else that
shows you how to play GL and leave everyone twisting in the wind, because they
don't apply to you or your means.

Wiki is not relevant to this topic.
The wiki is not the game.

Indeed it's getting quite annoying how mainstream games spoonfeed everything nowadays, there's no challenge anymore.

Exactly. The challenge of the game is finding out the requirements, not planning your build or actually fighting the enemies. If you know the requirements of gear before you buy it, games have literally no challenges at all in them.

Granted the wiki is not the game, the wiki is there to help NEW players, maybe not older ones
that know the game and who have used it in the past.
Although, this seems pretty important to a lot of players, old and new.
http://galaxylegion.com/wiki/index.php/Races
Because all of your higher ranked players are the same race.

I guess you don't help new members in your legion then, because obviously you're
saying they should know how to play the game and not ask questions.
Just let them spend all of their points on hull and call them noobs, right?
Well, that seems to be the direction of the game, and the forums anymore.

FerrusManus wrote:

Don't post up anything that is not redeemable to the higher levels, and don't
ask for anything if you're a low rank because we didn't get that when we
started so neither should you.

failname wrote:

Yes, it's a shame when players forget how this game was in the beginning, and now
they are higher ranks the game isn't a challenge.

So, back on topic ....

A lot of the items that are in the Battle market have rank requirements.
Some are labeled, and some are not.
It would be nice to have them labeled when there is a rank requirement like
the Dominion Cannon mark II & III are appropriately marked.

Thank you.

All it takes is a bloody coding change to chuck in the rank requirement next to the item.

Simple fix, less hassle, and yes people should know that what they are buying, is "of use" to them.

You can't just say "oh this isn't a childs game, you don't need spoonfeeding". Fact is that, yes you do need spoonfeeding, lest you wanna end up with a tincan ship, not knowing what your doing, and spending half your in-game life in a legion that has low member counts and cannot benefit you in any way.

At some point in this game, 99% of players were told by another player or by asking on the forums for help, what race is most beneficial to them, profession suits the race better, how best to go about building your ship, which resource to improve on, so yes, everyone needs spoonfeeding.

Big shout out to Gallin, for spoonfeeding me and many other players in The Rangers, on how to go about improving our ships and not wasting artifacts.

The game already has a built in tuition program at the start of the game when you join, a most remarkably inept one at that, which explains the mere basics in such a way that "a child" could understand.

Each and every day, at least 1000+ people are being spoon fed data, be it drops from certain missions on the forums, the rank and medal data next to certain artifacts in the battle market(why they don't all have the req listed is beyond me), the rank/race/profession/scan/cloak requirements listed when you hover over a mission or legion mission that is grey'd out.

The game also tells you exactly how many decks you need to install a certain device, or how many player kills you need to start a specific mission. You're also told exactly what stats a new module will provide before installing it.

The fact that when you select your race at the start, and it tells you what your chosen race will provide you with, as well as what your chosen profession provides you with, is the grandest spoon-feeding example i can find.

Yes the artifact is called BM50, we can all read, and i suppose you could very well deduce from that, the rank requirement. However that doesn't negate the argument, that if the rank requirement is there, in bold letters and underlined, for certain other artifacts, it should be there for the rest that also have requirements.

Lastly, i won't be as bold as to say, that you can't build a good ship without being spoon fed data on how to build your ship, perhaps someone out there, flukely played this game without ever noticing these messages about what their race provides them at the start, or didn't notice that the mission they just started lowered their cloak 90%, and told them that fact, but i find it extremely hard to believe.

The game may not be aimed at children, but it does a damn good job at making sure a child could play this game, so evidently it is meant to be played by those of all ages.

--------------

That's another rant from me, on the ideology that the game shouldn't be/isn't meant to spoon feed people, and that it isn't aimed at children apparently & all over something as simple as a one line message saying "Requires Rank 50 or Greater".

Yes but you chuckleheads are FORGETTING that it has "50" in the name of the "BM50" Convoy Shuttle. The rank to use it IS IN THE NAME OF THE UNIT! So what! you spent your silvers for a unit you cant quite use yet! Get to rank 50 and you will be able to use it! It's not like you wasted your Silver badges... getting to rank 50 is PDQ, so cry me a river if you cant read between the lines. i mean seriously. Yes we ELDER players might seem a bit miffed about your whining, but back when we started playing the game we didnt have these new toys to play with. We were years in playing before they even came available to us, so that might be why theres alittle less than giving a damn about your not being able to use something you bought and isnt available to you.

2 words you should take to heart instead of Whining!

LEVEL UP!!! :D

So does this mean that the DM79 Datacenter is only available to Rank 79 and over?? Maybe, but I don't think so. Also other Battle Market artifacts, 6 by my count, state the level required to install the item. So all this talk about it being obvious and don't be so lazy is just BS, a mistake has been made and once Dan sees it, I'm sure he'll fix it (ain't that right brother)

Not to tread on your post Phil, it's a good one, but your talking apples and Oranges. DM79 Datacenter is a planetary mod. Not a ship mod. DM79 is made from artifacts in your hold through the CTLab if your legion has it unlocked. The BM50 is made from the Battle market with silver badges. Everyone has access to that market. If dan fixes the text to it, fine if not, also fine. this thread here is long enough for anyone to read and see the BM50 convoy shuttle isnt accessable till your rank 50. Most players arent even in a legion to go after a base until around 50, and most shooting at a base at that rank are a bug on the windshield. 1 shot and your ship is destroyed. Maybe 2 if your buffed with a nanite swarm. LOL. it also depends on the level of base your going after, and if they little guy is trying to go after a level 6 or 7 base too!. theres alot of variables in the math there i dont care to go into.

I will defer to my previous statement to those players under rank 50 that spend their silver badges on a BM50. It's not wasted. You still have your shuttle (Unless you did a dumbass thing and scrapped it)

So...

LEVEL UP!!!

To be fair, I don't think anyone has ever considered that "50" was in the name until after they found out the requirement, ever. It's unreasonable to expect someone to come up with that, you only think it would be obvious because of hindsight bias (a common flaw).
