but, purchasing at least 1 of *EVERY* item on the battle market ... that might work ...

If the "paper Or Plastic" peaks your interest, then suggest what it should be instead of shooting it down.

Purchase one of every item in the market for 5pts? They're only medals not GPs.
Besides, you would get more than 5 pts IMHO if you purchase one of every hardware
in the Battle Market.

Neophyte:Successfully perform 20 hacks against other ships. 5pts
Frontier Explorer:Scan a new planet while you have 10 or more planets already scanned in your planet list. 5pts

IMHO 5pts for making a Battle Market purchase fits perfectly in that format

Darth, are you saying you agree with him? That you should have to buy all of the Battle Market items just
to get 5pts while all you have to do is hack 20 players or scan a new planet when you have 10 and get 5 pts.

What I've noticed is that a lot of higher ranked members, or even members that have been here a while love to shoot
down new ideas that seem useless to them because they are beyond it's reason.
Again, it's 5 pts, not 500. How can you agree with his statement?
What he's suggestion, is, beyond the boundary of new players, or even players that have been here longer.
Did you purchase every item? Would you think it was worth 5 medal points in the long run? Or do you think it
should be worth more?

Now, guaranteed, if I would have posted up 5pts for buying all of the items, someone would have posted up
that it was unreasonable, and it should be 500.

Maybe 'spent 50 GP' is better, or 20

Using 10 GP, you can buy flux probe for 2 GP, and get 5 medal point

I'm not talking about spending GP, I'm talking about trading in badges for items in the Battle Market.

Make a 5 pt badge when you make your first purchase in the market.

Why is this so hard to conceive, and why is everyone making a big deal about 5 points?

Again, I'm not asking for GP, or asking to spend GP, all I'm saying is trade in any badge for an item in the market,
and receive 5pts and a Medal called "Paper Or Plastic" that will appear in your medal list when you view your medals.

You're talking about the artifact market. This is about the battle market where you get your dom cannons and CipherBots.

There are plenty of medals that give those 5 pt ratios for you to build medal points. And theres some 10 and 15 ones too. Earning medal points comes from playing the game, doing missions, NPCing, Hacking, PVPing, ect. ect. ect. you can earn a total of 1985 medal points at current cap. So get in that Delorean and go Back to the Future.

What's up with all the hate. I don't think its an amazing idea but don't see why it shouldn't be added. Why are people so angry about it???? Come on people if you don't like an idea don't just say 'that's crap' give a REASON.

Agree, the idea still has merit, not useful for upper ranks (aimed at low ranks) but its another way to get some medal points and I think having a medal for purchasing everything on the battle market is worthy of suggesting.

if this was a purchase using GP, then i could understand ... Dan gets money.

the 'easy' medals exist for doing simple things ... to encourage players to try those things out ... if they decide that they do not like hacking / raiding / disabling / missions ... fine, but at least they got a medal for it. why else would someone willingly NOT pvp for 30 days straight, if not for the medal reward ?

giving a medal for spending badges that you already acquired, to get an item that was obviously desirable enogh to spend those hard-won badges ?? totally superfluous.

hence my earlier modified suggestion.

you want to ask yourself why so many of the suggestions that have been posted here have been ignored. my answer ? CUZ MOST OF THEM ARE CRAP ! if people bothered to think things thru a bit before posting, they might come up with a decent suggestion, where we could debate the finer details and Dan could rush to implement. this particular suggestion is still half-baked.

Again, it's only 5 medal points.
