I can say with 100% certainty, and if you would like, on Facebook I could easily forward a message in their own words to prove it.

I would like to add a new name to the list of nominees that I do believe could be non-biased, extremely knowledgeable about the game, been here since early on, and is well respected by all in game and on the forums. In fact I've never seen a rude or argumentative comment from him, instead he is often one to try to keep threads on track when he posts.
Golgotha
As for other nominees, I can get behind Annabell for many of those same reasons, and Mojo as well.

Annabell speaking up has made me feel more inclined to say something I've been thinking.
A few people here wanting a mod position have in the past on more than one occasion just plain lost composure and have flipped out. Threatening to quit the game, quit the forum, or just made long ranting post about how bad you have it in real life to the point where you post did nothing constructive for the game or community and was meant only to bring negativity to the forums.
Do yourself a favor and don't put the stress of moderator on yourself.

^ what Tree said, I haven't been checking this regularly but hopefully no one thinks I'd be good at this for that reason exactly

If 2 then, Mojo fo sho and Darth Flag
If more, Golgotha also
Lastly, though I am not nominating him, I do wish you would put Pony on the list. Grammar is important, but it was an arbitrary 'rule' you made up and wasn't anything Dan mentioned. He has been properly nominated so give him his respect.

Well, we can only assume who and how many Mods we will have. I would expect to have minimum 2 new Mods, which both could be accepted by Dan and cooperate well together with high activity on forum preferable with experience already. A wisely chosen Mods can be nominated for 1 year so they can have a time to achieve a difference (not possible in 2-4 months, unrealistic). To the current nominations I leave here a word or two, listed per my own preference: #1 Rarek, Posts: 2118 He is obviously an "Elder" not only on this forum and I never saw a thread, where he would lost a balance and flame on others. As I recall, Rarek went a little quiet as the forum moved to more and more argues. Making him a Mod, would bring a chance to have reverse this trend. Also, there is some good reference on him, right? #2 Xzien, Total posts: 8903 He is obviously super active on forum in positive manner and also in recent hot topics did keep his overview. He is currently banned by Dan, but as I posted above: "the issue can be solved and I assume also will be solved. The guys will have then will to avoid same approach in future I would assume." IF, they would be both Mods, I think ALL would respect them - not only their friends. #3 varunjitsingh146, Posts: 5253 Varun is well known, so rather explain why "only" #3 - per our recent dicussion he mentioned some RL issues, which not sure if are already solved or would influence his daily activity on forum. Varun would be great Mod in cooperation with Xzien. #4 Darth Flagitious, Posts: 7891 As all of nominated, not my friend, but I do like the way he comment and respond to suggestions on this forum. He has overview and comment only if others did not provide the right answer. #5 Tree7304, Posts: 1599 Serious person, even if disagree did show on forum a calm approach and will to understand the arguments of others. Not even mentioning his advices to "newbies" on forum - This how I know him and that is why I respect him. I am sure, the rest of community on forum would have more to add. I think he could cooperate well with other Mods. #6 Kirk Eastman, Posts: 1237 Known and respected both on forum and in game. Has calm approach - sometimes I wonder, whether they are not relatives with Tree. Would have a hard time to pick from this two. Per post (see link) has experience with Mod position. Rather no: Annabell - reason: Mod shall be neutral and not start an argue. Yes it did happen few times dear lady. As well, you forgot to come back and say: "Sorry, I was wrong." Mojo - reason: Mod should be glad to be Mod and ask for it not only accept it. Also I assume, Ghosts will need a leader having more time on the legion matters than forum topics. Self-nominated members of forum: Rather please work on forum more so in case of new Mods needed in future, people would suggest you on their own.

Its nice to be nominated for such a role on the forums.
I log in every day and subject myself to everyone's postings, sometimes to my regret lol.
I know quite a bit about the in's and out's of the game, and when in doubt i always double check my own references to make sure i know what i'm talking about before replying.
I am familiar with how the merging of topics and threads works, as i was a forum mod for around a year, albeit on a Pokemon website i created, and trust me, forums about pokemon games require a lot of thread mergers, literally hundreds every day when news gets released.
As for rule enforcement, well, you can just ask my legionmates about how i feel about rule enforcement, i've temp kicked a few of them for breaking rules, and am quite strict when it comes to making sure people follow the rules.
I see daily, occasions of which a thread should clearly be closed, or a post that really does deserve a warning against the poster for verbal abuse, against someone just stating an opinion.
The worse things about those threads, is when a kind soul comes wandering into it, and ends up on the receiving end of a tirade against them, and responds in kind. The idea of more moderators would greatly decrease that from occurring, and hopefully would put a stop to such threads within minutes of seeing them spiral out of control, by both locking the thread and if needed handing out warnings.
I do agree with the statement earlier, in that, if any person or persons are approached and granted a position as forum moderator, they should of course at least be offered the choice of a new forum account, to provide an anonymity to the position, lest people discover whom that person is, and to prevent any repercussions against them in-game. If they wish to retain their current account, then of course, that is their decision.

I still lean towards Kirk not cause we are in the same legion its because he has those qualities need it.. 1. Double checks his info before posting anything. 2. Those not take sides. 3. He is firm but fair and always enforces the rules when need it. 4. Has patience for ppl.. ( respects ppl = ppl skills) 5. He has the time and energy to do it. 6. He is UK based player. Edit: 7. He has been a mod in the past.

+1 to Plurvion, I dont believe giving well known players (particularly from powerful legions) power such as this would be a good thing. Too much conflict of interest and potential for problems. It would be difficult to find people as active though.

I've clearly taken sides on several subjects in the past, which given my interest in the game shouldn't surprise anyone , the same can be said for everyone, we all have our own viewpoint on where the game should be headed, or more aptly, where you would prefer it head. What's important is realizing that as a forum moderator, you have to curtail those parts of yourself which force you into making a post about those issues. If there is an issue that effects yourself and others(key point, it must effect others) in game, and you are a moderator, you are already in a position to bring it to Dan's notice, without creating a flame war thread in the making. Also, in my opinion a moderator should never give a +1 to a forum thread. Whilst it might be something that effects said moderator, giving a +1 would seem comparable to a rubber stamp approval by the people in charge, and that is a slippery slope, because in actuality, it means nothing if a moderator +1's your idea. If said idea is worthy of implementation, then it should not need a moderator to post an approval message on that thread at all, the idea itself should attract the attention of enough +1's to make it clear its something people want. It's at that point, that a moderator could choose to PM Dan and say, "Heya Dan, this idea seems to be getting a good number of decent viewpoints, perhaps it warrants further investigation". Also, people need to realize that a moderator has no actual influence on the direction of the game, or weight on Dan's decision making. Lastly, one thing i think people need to realize when selecting a moderator, and i truly think people sometimes forget, or don't realize, is, that as a forum moderator, your primary job is 99% forum maintenance/answering queries, you actually rarely ever get to influence anything outside of the forums, because that is not your job.

PLURVIOUS wrote: itsSoulPLayAgain wrote: PLURVIOUS wrote: My opinion - No player should be a Moderator. It's a perceived conflict of interest, and will inevitably hit the fan in a horrible way. Many players are active, this can help stop a lot of the name calling and other rule braking. I have seen many games do this and it worked. Just need to make sure there people who can keep the game and the forums issues they have separate. Locking topics should be the extent of there powers. Any banning should be left to Dan alone. But having players on as advisers to monitor and help people dose work. Just need to make sure there the right ones. Even with the right person on the job, Guaran-damn-teed, either that moderator will let it go to his head one day and/or that moderator will get beat up left and right with accusations. That's why any mod/in-game mod or admin and server owner has to be able to switch their mindset. This includes throwing your opinion and ego out of the window. I have been a admin in quite a few games, and being a player or being a mod is completely different per person. ________ Updating the thread...

Moderators are not involved with any in-game developments at all.
