Slight Delay after ship repair

Is it possible to make a slight (about 5 minutes real time) delay after you repair your ship before you go on the battle tab for others to see? The delay can be wiped out if you attack anyone during those 5 minutes.
I'm requesting this because for about the past year, I haven't been able to do hardly anything that requires a ship in working order (including many missions), since as soon as I repair my ship, I am dead again in less than 2 minutes. I've taken to just leaving my ship disabled most of the time to avoid tanking my combat reputation when I want to do something in the game besides PVP.
Obviously you wouldn't want to give people a chance to hit others when they weren't on the battle tab themselves, which is the reason for wiping out the delay if a hostile move of any kind is made on anyone. But for the times when you want to do a mission that requires your ship be in repair, such a delay can help a lot.
Thanks!

Set artifacts like calming amplifiers and halcyon traps before you repair so that no one can hit you. They can give you at least 6 hours of protection

Try getting some cloaking on your ship or actively work to improve your combat reputation to insane. Laughable ships are usually very tempting targets for most PVPers (contrary to what some people on here say that combat reputation means nothing at all). Cloaking should be self explanatory.

Thank you for the suggestions. My replies:
Re: Calming amplifiers and halcyon traps: they are not in unlimited supply. I've tried this tactic and run out. Also, the trap doesn't always work (attacking ships only have a "chance" to activate it; I'm sure there is dissatisfaction on both ends with this trap since the attacked ends up with a badly damaged ship and the attacker ends up wasting a huge amount of energy with nothing to show for it). Re: Increasing reputation: I've never been below "balanced" in reputation (and am now). At one point I had it up to whatever the one above balanced is, and it didn't seem to make much difference in getting me targeted. Re: Just letting myself get hit 3 times per day: This is a quick trip to a "laughable" reputation. To just maintain my position, I have to hit one ship for every ship that hits me. If I do this with three ships per day, I would not have much energy left to do what I want to in the game (and then I couldn't use the CA and HT if I had them). Re: Cloaking. I am working on higher cloaks now. Currently I have a base cloak of 1050 and use an artifact to increase it before repairing. The last time I repaired, I got two button pushes in on a mission that requires a repaired ship and by the third I got the message that my ship had been disabled and I didn't qualify to do the mission. That's what prompted this post. Re: The comment about performing offensive actions and not complaining: I am not complaining about getting hit period. I am complaining about getting hit before I can even change the screen. Also, if you re-read my original post, I said that if someone used the five minute delay to perform an offensive action, then the delay would end right then. I'm not expecting to get free hits in with it.
I'm currently level 270. About a hundred levels ago, this didn't seem to be an issue. I could repair up and play and wasn't disabled until sometime after I'd logged off. Now it's almost impossible to play unless all you want to do is PVP all the time and do nothing else (or else you only play when your artifact haul brings in the CAs and HTs). Now the game seems unbalanced; what is the point of having missions at all if the whole game is now geared entirely towards PVP?

re: calming / halcs - spend some credits on the GTC ... those go relatively cheaply
re: combat rep - real mission players don't care about combat rep; pvp'ers know a weak ship when they see one ... some of us take notes so you WILL get hit again unless you make it not worth their while.
re: cloak - 1k cloak is alot ... but it means the people that can see you have a LOT of scan ... and usually anyone with that much deck space has lots of guns to boot.
i just auto.ranked 10 ranks from 278 to 288 in the last few hours on missions. did not get bothered once. but that's cuz most who have tried have found my ship to be very indigestable. when i am done with my current mission chain, i will go back to slow.ranking.
you need to be willing to switch gears. right now you have a weak ship which is preventing you from missioning effectively. so, work on making a better ship, then you will be able to mission in peace. if i were you ... i would keep a log of those that have been attacking you ... and dish back some pain a few months down the road when you have improved.

Your issue is not that you are reappearing on the Battle tab too quickly after you repair, your issue is that you're repairing too quickly after being disabled, without first resetting traps, etc., and so you are still on the Battle tab cycle that lead to the initial disable.
When you cycle onto the Battle tab, it is not for just one player, but rather for an entire set of players that share certain Scan/Cloak/Rank characteristics, thus you can be seen by all players that fit those guidelines simultaneously, if they all have their Battle tabs open.
So in short, slow down, reset traps, and give it a moment before you repair to either prepare to defend. This will let yourself cycle off the others' Battle tabs due to having already been hit by the first attacker and thus bumped upon refresh.

A "balanced" reputation or even one higher does not prevent people from taking you down... Most people don't actively disable "Insane" players, but you do appear on higher-ranked player's BTs, as well. Strengthening your ship so that people don't want to / are unable to disable you is key.

Yeah. Balanced and Dangerous reputations are both kind of KoS reputations. It's amazing how many players DO target by reputation - even at higher ranks. You would have to get up to Savage at a minimum, and much preferably Insane if you wanted to get off the BT.
My advice? Set your traps and buff up before repairing. Many players will see online buffs, assume you're online, and pass on hitting you. Then, go and PvP for several kills. Once you die, don't repair until you need to.

Again, people assume I don't set traps or that I repair too quickly. At the moment, I am not repairing at all, just waiting for the level ups to repair. And then, before I level up, I buff the ship and set traps. The Krionus gives me maybe a minute for the attacker to use a Null Fuse. the Omicron doesn't hit them hard enough. I once had a trap war with someone (because I'm always getting hit while online now, obviously). But if I'm already involved with something else, I'm at a disadvantage to hit them back. And even if I do hit them back, then I'm using my energy to PVP when I wanted to do something else.
If I went up to insane, then I'd have to stay on PVP once I was there in order to maintain it. Again, fine for everyone who plays GL for only PVP. But ultimately if that's what GL has become, why bother hanging all the missions and NPCs on it?
Just a five minute delay (unless an offensive action is taken) is not unreasonable to ask for.

Just a five minute delay (unless an offensive action is taken) is not unreasonable to ask for. no, we assume you don't set halcon. KVT and omi are mere inconveniences, halcon is the attack stopper. Also, you do not HAVE TO maintain a battle rep, especially if your ship isn't ready for it. And frankly, based on the fact you are coming to forum to cry about it, I'd say you are not quite ready.

Do you think that a five-minute timer will make that much of a difference? If, as you say, you are already being disabled within 2 minutes of repairing, then with that suggestion in place, you'll be disabled within 7 minutes of repairing. The issue lies not in the game setup, which already gives you options to avoid being disabled as soon as you repair, but rather in the way you built your ship.
If you are running out of calming amps, then your artifact production needs to be higher (the exception being if you are constantly using them in the CTL). If your halcyon doesn't trip before you're disabled, then your hull and defense are too low. Try to make it so that it takes at least 10 hits for your ship to be disabled
