I know that people all over the world play GL and the 4th of July is an American Holiday but that doesn't mean it can't be a great time for a new limited time artifact for sell.

Add medals that go with buying and installing them and we're in business

As far as an idea -1, for the reason you mentioned. GL is a game played world over, if you do 4th of July where do you call it quits? I am Welsh and think you could easily do a very cool reward for Dydd gwyl Dewi Sant (St. David's day).

It's less a case of not wanting American holidays, but more of a case of "If we allow American holidays, where do we draw the line?" I can't imagine it being impossible for us to end up with some kind of event every single day. Actually, that would be cool, but I'd rather not see horribly rushed content.

However, since 4th July IS an existing minor event in GL already, I wouldn't mind a continuation of the simple daily reward. Don't see much reason for more than that though.

No offense to anyone in other countries that play GL, but GL is based in the U.S. so celebrating U.S. independence day is more than appropriate in my from my point of view. In other words if GL had been created and was based in Mexico I wouldn't nerf anyone there for wanting Cinco De Mayo celebrated, or any other country respectively for that matter. I would definately like to see something to celebrate independance day.

I'll be the first one to admit that a lot of Suggestions and Ideas are hit and miss. This one has almost an Even number of +'s and -'s.

Want more options, an activated effect rechargeable with GP perhaps? I would love to see a rechargeable effect that deals 5% extra damage to players while PvPing effect to last 1 hr, not able to be removed by artifacts. Similar to the Q-Pedd Ansible.

I wasn't trying to add a nerfed Hallow's Bane Turret with my Freedom Turret idea, my base doesn't have them so i forgot the stats...so how about a Turret that has a 2% chance of inflicting 10% of a ships total hull and shields, limit 2, basically a T-Plasma Gemini Cannon for bases. I'm open to suggestions for a better name.

Most the holiday artifact sales include 1 ship module, 1 base module and 1 planet structure, I like Pony's planet structure idea. Feel free to add additional ideas if you don't.

I also will admit that a lot of players don't really want to spend money on GP but Dan has to earn money somehow and for those if us that do buy GP regularly who really wants to wait til Halloween or thanksgiving for the next set to return?

I am + anything that can add more cannon and/or make the ship stronger. I don't care what holiday it is for, I don't care why. Bring it, is all I say.

Though, Dan is from the US and Independence day is a big deal for those State side.

I'd draw the line at 10% player population: if players from any nation or group comprise of more than 10% of the total player population, then the holiday of that nation or group can be celebrated.
And I'd do a 3+2^x+5x thing, where you get x holidays based on the % population. So if US player comprise of say 60% of player base, then top 5 US holidays can be celebrated, 97% would give 6.
Ofc, player % base isn't going to be an exact science, but that's how I'd draw the line. Want your nation's holiday celebrated? Rally support by getting your friends to join.

Sadly, other than IP, there is no way to really tell what nation/group one is from. Survey won't be very accurate because not all players would participate(unless it is done in game somehow) And frankly, IP won't be very accurate--I'm Chinese in US. While I have no particular preference of Chinese holiday over US or vice versa as I don't care for ANY of them. Some ppl who are in a different country might.
But anyway, that's how i'd draw the line, if it was possible.

PS: the formula is somewhat randomly drawn, so it is a mere example. But I did try to optimize it in such a way that one single group/nation won't get a huge amount AND make it so the maximal number included won't be too high.
